You are correct WilliamM in stating that I only post in selected places (forums) on this site. However, I frequently read forums in which I never post. With that stated I'll stick to my guns. Even the Political Forum today is more easily compared to a tea party than to the Political Forum of fifteen years ago.

I have to say I find this forum much more supportive, in general, than “the other site”.

 

In fact on this forum I am probably among the harsher members.

 

But over there, some of them won’t hesitate to destroy your dreams or your enjoyment of certain emotional moments, calling you an idiot for giving presents, for falling for it, or calling your escort a liar who is just acting, when you describe that he cried in front of you (even though they have never met that escort).

 

Seriously, some of them must be dead on the inside, and I think they can only feel 2 things:

1. Orgasms

2. Their hand tightening on their wallet when it’s time to reward the guy.

 

Like here, you can use the ignore function on them, but you end up not seeing much because there is so little posting already.

The one thing that I would recommend is that people not call people names because of their posts. "Stupid", "Idiot", "Fat" are not helpful. I think it is more than fair to criticize ideas in posts, in fact it often helps. It often helps me because I can see other points of view and perhaps I change my own because I see they make absolute sense. I am not saying I have not been guilty of doing this. Usually it is toward the same people who seem unable to accept the truth about things even when presented with evidence.

Sometimes however I will posts multiple posts if the other person continues to posts things that are simply not facts and can be easily disproven. If I produce the facts and they continue to state the same "non-facts" I may give up or I may try again. People who really take these posts seriously will conform their behavior. I have yet to use the "button" however believe you me my finger has been on that button occasionally.

That is unfair, from Palm Spring 2018 to Jack the Ripper, there is only 5,395 miles and 130 years. At least we are still on the same planet and both happen in the "positive years".

You know guys until Oliver arrives in Palm Springs and gets settled there isn't much more to be said on this tread. So getting off topic isn't really all that destructive. Once Oliver settles in he will likely start a new thread in which he ask specifically who plans to attend. He will then start to put together numbers, provide information to probable attendees, and make arrangements for the Saturday evening dinner. My guess is that this will all start happening sometime next month thus all the rest of us need do now is sit back relax and be patience

I have been attacked often in the political forum for having an informal affiance with Kenny (therefore liking his posts). Personally I just ignore the attacks because they do not speak to real issues. And I pay zero attention to who likes someone's posts.

 

Also I have known for years that Kenny can be acerbic at times in that forum.

I pretty much agree, except you never know what questions people may have. Just when you thought you have answered everything, POW, someone asks for information that has quite been given. As you say, have patience and think of the eggs.

Americans in general have a very loose, heavily romanticized grasp of their own history. The 1773 Boston Tea Party was actually a revolt against corporate power in government, East India variety, but today’s right-wing Tea Party is pro-corporate government power all the way.

I'm a total convert to steaming eggs, the results are so much more consistent and it doesn't take as long since you don't have to bring as much water to a boil. You can get whatever level of doneness you want by just controlling the time.
