Ugh! Every time I see a post like this I think.......another older guy out of touch with the younger generation he wants to fuck. If you don't like tats .......don't fuck guys with tats. See how easy that was???????

That way too simple for the tattoo police.

Don't get all worked up guys. It's a preference question. I personally don't care much for them, and I don't enjoy them on film stars or escorts. A band around the upper arm, okay, but I find anything more than that unflattering. And I have to say that I don't understand piercings at all, no matter where they might be. But whoever chooses to do it isn't doing it for me.

I think it is somewhat of a fashion/trendy thing, and will diminish over time or be replaced with something else. I just wonder how it will go for those who have decided on tattoos when the get older and their bodies change.

"""I think it is somewhat of a fashion/trendy thing"""

Tattoos with Hebrew lettering / phrases seem to be gaining widespread popularity....I suspect some kind of status symbol tinged with fake enlightenment for many of them....some others - more sincere in their convictions, I'm sure.

As I look at escort ads, I notice now that most escorts under 30 years old have tattoos. And not just a single tat, but several all over - arms, legs, calves and chests. This trend has been around for several years and seems to be getting more common.

Does anyone here think that the tattoos make a guy look better? I don't. My opinion is that they cover and distract from a beautiful body - especially if they are large - like ones that cover an entire pectoral muscle - or an entire arm sleeve. But I'm betting that I'm in the minority.

As the tattoo trend seems to grow, it makes me think of the saying: "Nothing expresses your individuality like doing exactly what everyone else is doing."

Tattoos are compensation for a sense of deficiency. Sad.

But maybe they actually know what the Hebrew says. How do you tell the difference between "fake" enlightenment and "real" enlightenment? Are you enlightened? Are you expert at recognizing the enlightened?

And that comment comes from someone who's got ink.

This is perfectly absurd. I love this board :)

I had the most enjoyable flirtation the other day. I was showering in the wet area at my gym before getting in the hot tub, I turned around and this tall handsome boy a third my age, sitting at the edge of the swimming pool, was looking at me with a big smile on his face, and I asked myself,"What is someone like him doing smiling at someone like me?" I had to find out, so I went over and said hi. He said he loved all my tats and wanted to hear about them. We spent a few minutes talking tats and went our separate ways. It was a really enjoyable encounter.

It's like the Chinese pictographs. Most guys sporting them have trusted the tattoo artist for the exact meaning of what's embedded in their skin and unless they actually got that tattoo in Asia or Israel, it's unlikely that the artist had actual knowledge what what that Hebrew letter or Chinese pictograph really meant. I just don't have that much trust in anyone.

I agree, that's something I don't understand - how somebody can walk into a tattoo studio and, on impulse, choose a design out of a book and have an artist whom they don't know tattoo them with their selected design. I would never have a text tattoo or a pictocraph in a foreign language, but that's just me. The only text tattoo I've ever seen that I liked was on a semi-famous performance artist here in San Francisco who I know slightly. Down one forearm, he has the word "Surrender." Down the other forearm he has the word "persevere." Wisdom for the ages.

I think the Chinese pictograph thing may be mostly an urban myth. Everybody seems to have a story about someone they know (of) who got a tattoo that included Chinese characters and who belatedly found out what the characters stood for. The guy is invariably an enormous muscle stud, usually non-white, or bikers, etc. and the characters say "I am a pussy" or something similar. The people who like to repeat these stories are usually members of the tattoo police who take every tattoo they see as a personal affront and would like to think of that as just punishment for having done the unthinkable, and also, for being big and powerful and belonging to a group at the margins.

As I noted earlier, I'm pretty much indifferent to tattoos. But discussions about the pros and cons of getting/having a tattoo(s) always draw my interest. This has been a fascinating thread. :)

I recall an encounter where the guy had a few tattoos and it became obvious he was fishing for compliments on his collection. They didn't seem all that good or bad to me given my indifference. We were settling the finances and he finally asked me what I thought of this new tattoo he had on his chest. I replied "it's nice" which clearly wasn't enthusiastic enough. He wasted no time ushering me out the door. :D

Yup, I hinted at similar stories in a post above...while I don't have any ink I love the convos I get into with younger people when I express interest in their ink and ask about "the story"!!

Tattoos are like dogs in that way - excellent conversation pieces.

That's a little harsh, I'd say. Age has nothing to do with it - I had 2 uncles with tattoos on the inside of their forearms - gotten during their service in the navy - and when I was a kid I thought the tattoos were kinda creepy. I don't care whether the escort or masseur is 21 or 51, muscular and hung - I'd never hire the guys pictured above. As previously noted, to each his own.

Mostly urban myth perhaps but check out my post 34 above. It happened at the old Stella's in NYC and my Asian partner doesn't have a strong stance about tats that I know of.
