@Michael Wayne I tried to hire you several years ago when you were in NoLa. Have to admit the exchange we had via email (before text) was very off-putting to me. Didn't follow through.

"Preacher."

You say in your OP that your last Daddy's-related get-together was Mine was LAST SUMMER in Chicago and it was a wonderful overnight with a total sweetheart.

No review on Daddy's from the sweetheart. Hmmm..

The great thing about all this time without the reviews website is that we all squeezed the possibilities of these forums. My inbox is smoking with requests for recommendations and with tips based on the things I am sharing in public. What we can read in public is just the tip of the iceberg of the network we are creating here.

I totally understand that, in view of the Rentboy debacle, the 'daddy' person needs to be careful. May I remind the OP that the fund raising efforts to subsidize the legal expenses of the Rentboy team fell far short of expectations. In this world, you can only count on yourself ...

What is provided here on this website is a service that is entirely free of charge. Not only did I find it useful at times, I also find it entertaining. I would seriously miss it if it came to an end.

I do respectfully disagree with the OP's comment that this site, in its present configuration, does not 'work'. I did hire masseur 'Ethan' in NY a few months ago. There were some comments made here on the forum that had cast him in a doubtful manner. I did write about my own experience with 'Ethan' and answered various inquiries through PM. 'Ethan' is now doing well in NY - maybe thanks to my comments here, maybe because of the positive review I wrote on masseurfinder and, with greater probability, because he is a hard working dude who delivers a great service. This is just from my own experience. A limited, isolated case maybe but ...

Well said. When I've given positive feedback on this site it had indeed helped those masssurs/escorts with immediate positive results.

Surely an escort knows this isn't the place to advertise in hopes of substantially increasing his business.

This is not an advertising site, but being in here and commenting positively and openly is the equivalent of advertising. As several escorts who arrived here, expressed some doubt about its usefulness but then stayed, have discovered. Being in this forum is a bit like going to the Palm Springs weekend without any appointments and just being seen and talking at the events or around the pool. You get noticed and appreciated.

The tone of your rants posts sounds like those of the batshit crazy lady who walks down the street I take to work wearing tattered, soiled clothes shaking her fist and yelling crap to the passing cars. The probability that anyone who reads this Forum will hire you is smaller than that of Pope Francis giving birth to a jackalope.

I can only speak for myself as a newcomer to this site. I have found the information from other forum members extremely helpful in my search for a compatible escort. All of my interactions with members on this site have been positive. I particularly enjoy the Gallery where members post pics of handsome men. I am glad I joined this site

When I find I no longer like a restaurant, bar, club, store, etc… I simply no longer return. I certainly don’t keep going back to the establishment giving them suggestions to improve their business to my taste, or to let them know that since they are of no use to me then they are just done. I have better ways to spend my time.

As a member of this forum since 2005, I have seen this on line community grow over time so I have to disagree with the OP (Mikey) when he says it's brain dead and dying. When Daddy finally gets around to posting new reviews things will pick up. Mikey thinks just because business is slow that this site is also slowing down on it's last legs, and that's completely incorrect. Regardless of whether it's a buyers or sellers market there will always be a need for reviews and feedback.

Now I will agree with Mikey on one point that its a buyers market currently as DC as well as other major cities have been flooded with escorts leading to over saturation in my opinion. As a DC native I almost never saw DC Rentboy listings go over 100 and now it seems to have almost doubled. Last weekend for example there were a bit over 200 listings. I was in LA last week and the listings also seem almost double from Rentboy days. From my point of view that's great as more supply and competition equals lower prices.

This huge increase in supply has oddly enough led many escorts to increase their posted rates to $300 and up. It's bad enough for established providers to up their rates but for newbies with no reviews or feedback it's insane. This is completely opposite as to how the free market should work. It reminds me of a few years ago when the real estate market was in the dumps. Many sellers refused to lower their prices and in fact some even increased them as they didn't want to admit the boom times were over. I know the DC market very well as I hire several times a month and I can state without hesitation $200-$225 is the most I have paid this year for local escorts. Without exception everyone has been willing to negotiate although $200 seems to be the floor but a few have been willing to go a bit lower.

Although I won't name anyone there are several escorts who post on here that they are swamped with business at $300, but they have been more than willing to cut their rates by a significant amount, at least when I contacted them. There are a couple escorts in DC who are even more aggressive as when I viewed their ads on RM, within the hour they contacted me asking if I was "looking". When I replied their rates were beyond my budget they instantly countered with a lower price. One of these escorts has even posted on here how busy he is at $300 plus and clients need to contact him several days in advance due to his busy schedule.

I admit that many of the visitors to DC seem very unwilling to negotiate on prices and I do understand it's expensive to travel here, hotel costs, etc but I still think if they posted real world prices south of $300 they would do better. A few visitors have posted realistic prices and they have earned my business. I think it's a bit unrealistic for visitors to come to a major city like DC which is already over saturated with providers and expect to get above market rates.

In closing I would hope this forum grows with more feedback and reviews as with increased supply there is absolutely a need for more feedback.

And I hope you contribute more to that growth by participating more actively. That was a thoughtful and informative post that shows you have much more to give and share than you have so far.

You miss the point of this community entirely when you focus only on what you'll get out of it.

Yes. I see your point. But I DO actually get a lot out of this site.

First of all, I don't feel like a shady pervert hiring guys 20-25 years younger than me. I feel accepted. I feel it is OK.

Second, I have avoided falling in the trap of unscrupulous escorts posting fake pictures, ripping people off and the like.

Third, I have found countless young men with whom I had mutually beneficial and entirely consensual encounters

And finally, I did actually meet a few 'clients' here in NY, some of whom have become friends.

So, yes, I DO get a TON out of it. And all of this, while this service was delivered entirely free of charge ...

I think he is referring specifically to the escort who started the thread, who is proclaiming the site as being dead because no one who has hired him did so because of this site..

Daddy must have a great sense of humor! It seems like almost not too long after this thread was started that the following message began appearing at the top of each page of these forums...

"I'll be doing database maintenance on Thursday. The site will be down hard while I shift the database to a new location. We may be down minutes or hours."

That is a regular maintenance notice. It happens now and then, and has nothing to do with whatever is going on in the conversations.

I'm been posting for nearly a half year, and nobody I see has been seen by anyone on here, as feedback is very key. It doesn't bother me, but does get me thinking if I like or love something, many will take the opposite approach. The more I can keep my favorites to myself, the better!

Most of my newest reviews tend to come through the rentmen site. It just happens that way.

Not to criticize, or rub anyone the wrong way...but I think daddysreviews is like the Yelp and Trip Advisor of the escort community. So, even though people may see a hotel/business/etc on Yelp or trip advisor, I wouldn't imagine their restauraunt choice was solely because of a bunch of great Yelp reviews. They also likely wouldn't walk into a place of business and mention they read reviews on Yelp. It would seem weird and creepy. When you're hungry you go eat. When you're horny, you go get you some. The reviews may influence a choice, but not necessarily initiate the choice.

And I think most clients probably know it seems weird and creepy, so my guess is there's a lot more clients who know about this site or seen someone on it, but don't mention it.

The other theory would be, a lot of people just don't come through this channel before seeing an escort. I personally don't refer anyone to review me here because after debating back and forth between asking and not asking for reviews...I think it's easier for them to write the review where they initially seen my ad at.

Which leads me to conclude: I would love for the site to become a full blown escort site. Let us create ads/make some donations like A4A. Backpage and rentboy have been extinct off the face of the planet. Hourboy I can't seem to log on or create an ad. I think we need to take the plunge. Rebrand it. Make it about the escorts, and the money will come in.

I know the forum itself can be used as a tool of sorts, but you have to participate (often at ones peril) to get noticed or post travel dates. And being that posting here is generally indefinite, I prefer to post my whereabouts somewhere that I can modify or remove it at will.

Well I dunno Mocha, when I'm traveling I rely quite heavily on TripAdvisor for hotel information and Yelp for restaurants. I realize, of course, the problems with both of them but an establishment with nearly all 4-5 star reviews is likely to be pretty decent. I also look down the list for any negative reviews (which also must be taken with a grain of salt) and see what they were bitching about AND, almost as important, how the reviewee (I've invented a word) replied (if they did). Sometimes an honest reply to a bad review can be just as good as a great review would have. Same thing here on Daddy's. One negative review wouldn't necessarily keep me from considering hiring a guy especially if he replied in an honest and professional way. Several negative would of course eliminate him from consideration.

@Mocha, Funny you should mention TripAdvisor, as it's the first thing I check whenever I book a hotel through Hotwire. I also contribute reviews to that site as well.

Sounds reasonable. Again not to infer that such review sites don't matter, but i think the @tanman4u summed it up pretty nicely as sure 1 review here and there may not influence as much.

I personally can't read trip advisor too much because I don't like looking at nasty pictures. I know which chains are reasonable, but in certain cities there's more non chains and it'd be worth to check. However...I've found and killed bugs at seemingly nice hotels (including one of the Marriott's in Washington D.C.) and was so tempted to take a picture and post it on trip advisor. But, the same thing happened last week and they reimbursed me.
