I'm more an occasional viewer than a poster but IMO, the same dozen or so guys are commenting on anything and everything as if they have waaay too much time on their hands.

And while everyone is entitled, what's with all the responses by guys who have no idea what they're talking about.

There are many who start their response to a post by "I've never hired him, but..." or "I haven't seen that but..." or annoyingly, the excessive need for clients chiming in on all those "ASK AN ESCORT" posts. It's as if their 2 cents must be paid!

Many threads turn into a boring 2 or 3 man debate, most threads eventually veer off topic, negativity often destroys the discussion (guilty) and there are soooo many questions a simple forum search or google search would answer in 10 seconds. Yeah, yeah, I admit this post goes against your spirit of camaraderie and community - apologies.

Having said all that, I am so in love with these forums, terribly amused by the topics and only wish wealth and health on (most) everyone who partakes...

For me (very new here), the forums hooked me. I cannot tell you how inviting this forum is. I'm a late 30's professional guy- have my very specific sexual wants, and honestly have no problem finding dates or eligible men out there, but it's been really hard for me to find someone that have my same sexual interests. Admittedly I also don't have the time patience or interest to put into relationships or dating either.

 

A client of mine- very successful, very open and gay, took me out for dinner one night and he's someone I feel comfortable talking with. He's the one that suggested that in this phase of my life where I know what I want and don't have the time to invest .. to 'simply hire a discreet professional'.. this apparently is what he does as well...he directed me to RM

 

A little embarrased and shy, I thought about it.. and it made sense...

 

After checking out RM, i of course found this amazing site and discovered I can talk to people and be honest about what I want and how to get it. The private messages I've received from some of you have been so helpful and supportive.

 

So this is probably why you've noticed an uptick in traffic- because of how welcoming and informative and open you all are. And I thank you all for that.

I didn't know that...sad. Some of my very very early discussions regarding escorts were on the Atkol Gay Porn oriented forum. That particular area of the Atkol forum (pornstars for hire??) had to get shut down on occasion.....so see some things never change!

 

When "pornstars you have hired" pops up here...some of the names I always mentions came from learning about the porn actors who were available, Vince Rockland, Richie Fine, Brenden Knight, Austin to name a few I got in touch with thanks to Atkol. RIP

I was thinking the exact same thing about anthropologists! So much history is found in "ephemera." Someone just published the writings of Walt Whitman on physical fitness he found in a column in a microform newspaper from the 19th Century.

As a current anthropologist, I very much agree - there is much value in the ethnography of the everyday - making said that which would otherwise go unsaid (and it's nice to be able to post this without being harassed by the board's resident anti-intellectual clown!)

I don't know specific to elections. They do have several fine collections at LOC, available to varying degrees on the web.

 

And there are a bunch of academic libraries here in the states that maintain collections of various stuff.

For me, I used to check the reviews and hope that someone I was interested in hiring was reviewed. If they were not, I was out of luck. In this forum, I just do a search or ask for a 411 and get immediate responses. I also get to interact and give feedback on guys I hired without putting up a review which I never wanted to do for various reasons.

This site is addictive. There's a short list of sites that I visit at least once a day and this one is near the top of the list. I consider posting more often than I actually do... A few of observations (actually impressions since I have no definitive data to back it up).

 

I also think there’s been more forum activity than there was a year ago.

 

There seems to be an increase in the number of new members participating in discussions. Both clients and providers.

 

Inquiries in The Deli continue to be heavily slewed towards NYC / DC.

 

The Spa appears to have significantly increased activity. However, inquiries seem to be in closer balance between East Coast and West Coast vs The Deli.

 

Forum participants seem to be behaving pretty well in the Escorting forums (I don’t follow the other forums).
