@latbear4blk I certainly wouldn't have used the negative reasons, especially with @Italiancub (since I like his profile and hope to meet up with him).

I agree with the fat fingers and the RentMen APP is buggy that way too.

I would have added that if the profile interests me, then I will look at it often. Sometimes, the escort reaching out to me after seeing their profile again is enough to make an appointment. It shows some mutual interest.

I had one escort I looked at for months, the images and profile made him looks interesting. But the profile/pics read a little it may not have been a good fit. Every few times he'd reached out to me a quick Hello/Thanks for visiting. It became a habit to look and get that quick Hello. That habit made me comfortable to respond which has led to several pleasant appointments.

Marketing is about drawing the person in, so if people are looking, that isn't a bad thing. Just need to find a way to convert that into sessions.

I was not saying he is ugly. I was listing reasons why I may check some escorts profiles more than once. I do not think I have ever checked his profile.

I must confess it annoys me when escorts complain about the "picture collectors", and the multiple checks to their profiles without making contact. It is a classic, he is not original at all at this.

I live in FT lauderdale and I can't tell you how many guys have flaked out on me. How many guys have made travel to them and not answer a text or anything. It's rude and tears you down a little bit. Same thing with the guys who just view your profile a thousand times and don't speak or reply (pic collectors)

A very positive reason why someone might be checking your profile often is because they're interested and are looking to see if you have posted any travel dates that bring you near them.

There is a guy that I have been interested in for more than 6 months. He would never know this because I have tracking turned off in my Rentmen settings, but I have pretty much been checking his ad on a weekly bases in case he came to Texas. After "Rentmen stalking" him for so long, and then recently hearing some very positive things, I determined that I had to make the effort to go see him. Because I know (from the stalking) that he rarely leaves his home state.

I'm anticipating a good time and it will be quite profitable for him, so I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss people who visit your profile a lot.

Man, if you do not like your profile and pictures watched, you may need to move to a different profession. I do like your self confidence, assuming that people would like to collect your pictures. Just in case you may be wrong, let me show you why I click in escorts profiles, often:

 • I am using my phone and have fat fingers. I clicked in his profile by accident.
 • I am moving around the house with my iPad, ooops, I touched his thumbnail by accident
 • I checked it once, I forgot I did not like the pictures, I check it again by mistake
 • I checked it once, I found it ugly, so ugly that I had to check again to see if the pictures were changed
 • I checked it once, I found it ugly, so ugly, that I had to show it to my friends
 • Some one posts the link to the ad in the forums, I click on it, oops, I am taken to a profile I had checked before and did not like
 • I am bored out of myself, I start to check random profiles

I am sure I would remember more if I wanted to.

I think it's different when you've tried conversing with these people and they don't respond but view your profile

Whoa, whoa, whoa...I think @Italiancub may have been misinterpreted:

Many people do not like being contacted by the provider. They may be considering you for a hire, but you may scare them when you make the first move.

Be careful how you interpret data.

Meh, maybe/maybe not. Like I mentioned in another thread, sometimes (and from the advice of an ex/masseur who used to exclusively work a4a/CL) reaching out to the client first is a good idea, like @KennF and @MikeyGMin mentioned. Most gay guys like to be talked to first, but in my experience whoever makes the first move, usually ends up being the one flaked on. In dating. In bars. In escorting. So in @latbear4blk defense, I wouldn't make it habit necessarily, or I would just keep it very brief, e.g. "Thanks for checking me out, etc."

I think IC was referring to guys who check out profile consistently and don't respond. Having looked through my adam4Adam visits, I see that often, in fact have a guy who seen me before and hit me up again (mind you, per the topic, this is happening real time, in Florida). I see him looking at my profile, but he's not replied to my texts or emails that HE initiated. I'm not mad, but it just goes to show some people can't handle too good of sex. I don't know why some guys don't want seconds. You fuck them good one good time, and then they never want to meet again. So fuck em.

That said, for that reason I don't like to even know, see or care who's looked at me. Whether it's a dating site or escort site. If it's not in real life, fuck it. People look at shit on the Internet all the time.

I don't think Italian Cub was complaining about people picture collecting just frustrated that it happens so often. I usually have tracking turned off but I turn it on occasionally. As he said (after I had read Latbear's comment) if they are viewing a profile frequently after the escort has attempted to engage in a conversation it's not so nice and I think it's a bit stalky. If an escort contacted me either in RM or here, I would almost invariably reply even if only to say I'm not interested right now. If it were on RM I'd make sure to have tracking turned off if I looked at his profile again.

He should feel flattered that his pics are being viewed and leave it at that.

Entitlement much? That's never attractive. Rather than concerning himself over who is looking at his online pics, maybe the escort should try to figure out why he’s not closing the sales.

I'm just explaining how an escort could get annoyed when someone looks at his profile a lot without booking anything. I wasn't implying that's how I operate or that I condone this type of thought process.

One analogy that occurs to me is television commercials.

The intent is to create revenue thru product awareness and then interest and ultimately purchase. TV time pricing is based on cost per thousand impressions with New York & LA being around $30 per thousand viewings. If I remember correctly, Superbowl ads are something like $5 million for 30 seconds because there are millions of eyes looking at them. (Which is also why advertisers spend a fortune to produce the commercials... remember the Budweiser "lost puppy saved by the Clydesdales" commercial? The Mean Joe Green commercial? If you do, then it was money well spent.)

Escorts are paying Rentmen a flat rate regardless of number of impressions or city.

If you spend $50/month and get 1 viewing then you have a very poor return on investment.

If you spend $50 and get 5000 viewings then you have a very good return on your investment (and probably have a very well done profile).

If you have 100 viewings and get 100 clients then you're 1) properly selling 2) what people want - the 'how' and 'what'.

If you have 100 viewings and get 1 client then either you're not selling it properly -or- you're not selling what people want (or both).

(And be glad that Rentmen hasn't decided to charge you more for an ad in NYC or LA than an ad in DesMoines.)

Or something like that.

I was thinking of another way to explain myself.

A dancing / go-go boy could conceivably get a little annoyed with guys who always look but don't tip / hire for private dances / etc.

A baker at a farmer's market could conceivably get a little annoyed by the cohort of shoppers feasting on free samples but never buying something.

Bringing it back, I don't think it is a shocker that a companion could get a little annoyed with people sampling but never connecting. I'm not saying that an escort should stew about this or get hostile with the onlookers, (I think that is counterproductive) but I totally get where it can be annoying and frustrating, especially if a companion works at this full time.

I agree, but there is a difference between being annoyed and ranting about it. I don't have any problem with escorts saying there are too many watchers and too few hirers. It becomes a problem when they say that this makes the world unfair. I've looked at @Italiancub's profile more than once. I think he's saying 'Wouldn't it be nice if more of these lookers hired me' and not 'How dare people look at my ad without hiring me'. And I'm not in Fort Lauderdale.

I got your point, Oliver, but your analogy is flawed.

A go-go boy or a stripper cannot get not even slightly annoyed for guys looking at him once he is on stage. Of course if he plays with an audience member and he does not tip, hell yes get annoyed.

The baker cannot get even annoyed for a cohort of potential shoppers feasting their eyes on the braids and cakes on display in the store windows. Yes, get upset if people walks in, free sample, and do not buy anything.

Your ad and your pictures are not free samples. Are just the visuals you are using to sell yourself. Advertising.

In the words of a Puerto Rican mother instructing her kid not to run across a Florida parking lot: stop stop Stop

Technically the pictures are free samples. Some guys also include videos, etc. and let's not leave out those who may get off on those free samples. Then again, porn makes tons of free samples and I've gotten off on those myself.

That said, again...it's not an argument to be made. People are going to look. But, there are some good points made to make me think perhaps we should get some sort of profit for the viewing of our ads. Even if it's just an extra week if you get over X amount of views in a month. Maybe @Italiancub and I will write a letter to rentmen suggesting this. What you think?

I don't have a profile nor pictures (and if I did they would definitely not incent anyone to want to meet me).

That said, if I did I would think of them as an enticement for someone who would be willing to give me money in order to spend time with me. The CocaCola polar bear commercials are not free samples of coke. They are enticement for potential coke-buyers. Coke wants as many eyes as possible looking at those commercials and therefore spends allot of money to make them appear attractive.

I do think that spending 10 minutes on the phone with a potential client to GIVE them a sense of my personality is a free sample... It's taken some of my product - time - that I am unable to sell to someone else... but it's a good business practice when spent wisely. That's why some types of lawyers give free consults... to differentiate them from their competitors.

I would be pretty upset if no potential clients were looking at my pics. (Well, pics of an attractive version of me.) :)
