I guess the person who captioned the video hasn't seen a fully grown grizzly, if they think this one was massive.  To me it looks about 2-years old, and likely left it's mom earlier this season.  That might explain the relative timidness and curiosity about the dog, as well as it's susceptibility to intimidation.  I think the woman did everything correctly given the size of the sub-adult, but maybe not the wisest move to turn and run at the end of the video - that can trigger a chase response.

The bear appeared to be a playful but impudent adolescent. I little older and hungrier one might not have been so easily deterred. I too, applaud the woman’s audacity.

A grizzly can hit 35mph in a short sprint.  Usain Bolt at his fastest reached 28mph, and he is light-years faster than I am.  Thanks for the tip about triggering a chase response, because I know there is no way I’ll ever outrun a grizzly.

That's why you always take a fat friend with you. You can outrun him, can't you?
