While escorting in London I found that I got fewer calls if my age was listed as being above 25. Therefore when I passed 25 I started listing my age as a few years lower than it actually was. Nobody every complained (I generally look younger than I am), and it was good for business. I'm finding that in the US the dynamics are rather different, and so as I approach the end of my thirtieth year and contemplate my age once again starting with a zero I'm wondering whether or not I should use my real age on my profiles.

 

I'd be interested to know what everybody thinks, both clients and fellow escorts.

That's interesting. Could you elaborate on how it's different in the US?

I've noticed more escorts over the age of 30 advertising, apparently successfully. There have also been a number of people commenting on this forum that they prefer 'older' guys (i.e. not twinks). This is only an inkling, however, thus the question.

Some people won't care what age you list. As long as you look close to/exactly like your pics they're fine. Some people seem to take it personally if you aren't telling your exact age... even if you look younger or beyond hot for your age.

 

I say go with your real age unless you feel it's hurting your business in some way. Me personally, I wouldn't care the man's age. If I find him attractive, it holds no barring on whether I'm willing to see him.

I would advise using your real age. @big-n-tall makes very good points and I pretty much agree. There are some well regarded escorts who are older and list their real age and these guys are over 50. They don't seem to have any trouble attracting clients.

 

Then there's the guys who have discovered some magic elixir that slows the aging process. Otherwise, how is it possible their ads list the same age for years and they don't look any older? They usually don't update their photos either.

 

It's interesting that you note a difference in client preferences between the USA and the U.K. Why do you suppose that's the case? What differences have you observed between American and British clients besides the age issue? I think many of us would be curious to learn.

Other than the age thing what has surprised me is that clients in NY and Las Vegas have been rather less demanding and friendlier than many in London, even though rates are rather higher here at current exchange rates. I've found the whole experience here to be less transactional, which suits me rather well.

There are certainly escorts in the UK over the age of 50 who do very well, but there seems to be something of a no man's land between the ages of 25 and 40.

I don't think age is that big of a deal in absolute terms, but it's probably better to go with as close to the real number as you feel comfortable going. I think honesty is sexy.

 

In general, I don't usually expect an escort to be his advertised age any more than I expect his real name to be Baron McNasty. I only think it bothers me when the disparity is obvious or when the age doesn't meet the minimum required for the activity (i.e. he needed to be 21 to enter the casino but he was really 20).
