My thoughts exactly. I grew up around farm work. These guys look awfully polished for farmers.

But you also gotta take note that the photographer at hand is a fashion photographer rather than a photojournalist, and as such he would have put any sexy farm-hands he found through at least a minimal amount of hair and make-up to get them calendar-photogenic.

 

I guess one way to know for sure is to see if these guys do work for a modelling agency. Anyone gonna by the calendar to verify?

In all likelihood, they are are non-farming models, but why ya gotta piss all over the fantasy?

 

Now, if they are indeed actual farmers that the photographer has "found", fashion shoots is all about constructing the image: carefully scouting participants for the look the photographer wants, direction to the farmer models to suck in a certain way, to flex and turn at a particular point, certain lighting is used in shoot to create definition, even make up on abs and muscle groups to contour....and then lets not even go into post-production in photoshop. As stated before, this work is fashion photography, not photojournalism, so even if they are real farmers, the photographer would choose young sexy ones.

 

As an art graduate in a former lifetime, I certainly used traditional in camera techniques

for self-portraits to make my self look slimmer and more firm like a cute stocky cub, and photoshopped some zits on my face for a clear smooth complexion.

I disagree about Britain's sexist farmer. He is at least as sexy if not sexier than the airbrushed hunks in the calendar. One of the links in the article shows another picture of sexiest farmer George Grant. Though not revealing (unfortunately), the pic does show that he's a very fit young man. Add the trim muscled physique to the boy-next-door good looks and the aw-shucks charm, and I find Farmer George super sexy.
