Guys I have hesitated to post this thread and I have held on to it for a while just to make sure that what I am seeing reflects a general trend in the biz. Now I am sure it definitely does. 95% of potential new clients in high end hotels absolutely refuse to give out the room number until you are in route to the hotel or actually on the property. Others insist on meeting in the lobby. The question of the conduct is not in doubt but I would love to hear forum members thoughts as to WHY????????

For me I do not leave my house without a room number and the hotel guests' last name so I am losing business here. I've had too many experiences where I have traveled up to an hour and the supposed client wasn't there or didn't answer............

As the OP I will go first and blame all the APPS and hook up sites. These people are not used to dealing with pros. Secondly I will say we have a new generation of escorts who do not value discretion as my generation does. They are also not on time if they show up at all. Lastly these guys don't read the reviews and they just hire on a pic and a headline.

I think we are witnessing an effective escort outcall practice change

in front of our own eyes. I think it has to do with the influx of amateur

or self-employed escorts who are changing the dynamic/traditions of

agency escorting. Personally, I welcome all change and just adapt -

particularly if it favors my privacy as a client.

As far as this being a trend, I must say that today I hardly ever get asked for room#,

only until the escort is arriving or is at the hotel lobby. I've noticed this happens

more frequently with younger escorts. They tend to play out the outcall, step by step.

I can't remember the last time I got asked my last name. Ten years ago?

Today, sadly, if an escort asks for my last name, alarms go off in my head.

For me, it is simple:

  • Regulars get my hotel room #
  • New hires to me (no matter how well-reviewed), I meet in the lobby.
  • No one gets my last name.

I respect escort's protocol, and if my client protocol doesn't match theirs,

we just part ways courteously. Lots of other fish in the pond.

I concur with a couple of personal preferences.

I actually modeled this on what I experienced from incalls to hotels. I found that most companions gave me their hotel address but not their room number until I arrived. This is fine with me.

I give regulars everything I know when I know it including room number; this would also include guys who are well known. I tell unknowns the area of my hotel when I make the appointment and hotel name when confirming the day before. I send my room number when I check in.

I've only requested a meeting in the lobby if it's a wildcard and I have some reason to want to make certain if who I'm meeting (or the floor is secured or hard to find). This is rare because I generally won't hire anyone I have doubts about.

I've never given out my last name and won't, even if an escort wants to call the hotel to confirm I am there.

I usually plan a few days in advance of a work trip and usually when i check in, i text the escort and let him know my hotel name and number. This alleviates questions/worries for them and minimizes the back and forth correspondence. However, when i am home i only tell them my address and once they are enroute, i text them my apt number/callbox info as i only have a daytime doorman. I guess i'm more cautious hiring newcomers at home.

I would not give out my last name. That being said taking a quick picture of a handwritten note (leave the details up to you - name, date, whatever) held up next to the door number is definitely feasible. If someone was worried about the legitimacy of me contacting them I'd personally have no problem with that.

In the "old days," before cel phones, someone calling the hotel had to know your full name to get connected or the hotel operator would not put the call through. It was not enough for a caller to ask to be connected to room number such and such as the operator would always ask for the name. Without your name, the escort had no way of reaching you.

NOT so "old days" some hotels still require guest's full name before connecting phone call. That's where a "meet me in the lobby" works, also key-required-elevators usually need a lobby meet.

ANY gentlemen that refuses a lobby meet is skipped (for me at least)

Sorry, but it is the exact opposite of valuing discretion if you expect to be told a client's last name.

... if an escort asks for my last name, alarms go off in my head... I respect each escort's protocol, and if my client protocol doesn't match theirs, we just part ways courteously.

I try not to arrange trysts too late that would require key card entry.... that is why i'm always rushing from my business dinner back to the hotel.....

I'm not clear why timing makes a difference? I'm have. 2.5* Holiday Inn near my house that's 100% all the time keycard for elevator

well, i usually stay at Mandarin Oriental, St. Regis or Four Seasons for work. I hate being scrutinized and the inconvenience of having to meet a guy downstairs in the lobby. Usually after hours around 11, they require a keycard.

I stay at many of the same 5 stars, but on my own dime not work. My attitude is they've seen just about anything, lol. Just ask your concierge...if you haven't already asked him to help you out ;)

Hotels sometimes ask but all you need is a first name and yes it better match. As far as the room number goes that should be a must before you head out. I can 't imagine inviting someone over and oh yeah I'll let you know when you get there. That's way too much secrecy. Anything less you sound like you're in a spy novel.

You reminded me of a quote an acquaintance

of mine used all the time...

Sad part is those guys probably

forgot all about how they made you feel, and

they're probably busy calling someone else stupid.

Hell yeah, 99% of my posts are so bitter (Trump effect)

I'm just provoking a conversation... some of yinz don't get sarcasm either.

Please we call each other stupid all the time, @Kenny has been called that and racist by a certain clown on a daily basis.

I guess my dyslexia didn't let me read/remember that rule (mandatory meeting at the lobby or you're asking to get mugged) only applies when hiring from the infamous BackPage.

I've had a similar experience, usually the elevators are far from the lobby area.

Seems to be the case in all W, Ritz Carlton, etc. but it also depends on the area the hotel is located and the chances of homeless sneaking into the hotel, etc.

There's a Westin nearby that requires a key while all other Westins I've ever stayed/visited don't. We called that hotel the "Marion Barry Vista-Westin Hotel", here's an infamous scene that once happened there when we were a poor city, now we're the city of the "Hunger Games" and instead of jokes we get envy and resentment.

I agree with you, I know folks who have been trying to sell things on Let Go and they're sick and tired of no shows and flakes, APPS have made our lives better but they've also made easy for us to be flaky and also expect instant gratification.

I agree with you on this thread, sad but true!

Seems like another negative post about clients. Shades of other jaded escorts.

And reveal last name? No f**king way! LMOA

I just see an interesting post about something happening and as usual we all discuss. I don't read anything sinister about it though.

Yes, you are going to lose a lot of business. I do tell escorts my real first name, but my last name is none of their business, especially when we haven't even met! Most escorts don't even tell me their real first name before we meet, let alone both first and last (some won't even tell me their real first name after we've done it!). If Michael Wayne is your real full name, you're one of the very few escorts who advertises with his real full name (although I've run across two in my life). I will usually tell escorts my room number, but I can understand more cautious clients who would want to meet in the lobby. I could especially understand if the person was married or had a sensitive job. And I've had escorts blow off appointments quite frequently. I guess if you don't know the person's last name, you probably won't be able to verify if the room number is fake or not. But although I don't consider myself closeted about my escort hiring, I'm among those who would never tell a potential escort I've never met what my last name was (usually not even necessary after we meet, unless I plan to take him on a trip/extended hire).
