Is this a bid fest or attack time on my fellow M4Mer/s? For once lets keep a thread pure and true to its original intent! Thanks!

(If one chooses not to participate in the bidding, then don't, but please do not mar it for the others! If Vahawk is that concerned, and apparently he is, I'd strongly encourage him to begin a completely NEW THREAD where he can cite the pros and/or cons of this particular thread!)

Although I'm contributing in another mode, I'm personally am anxious to see how far my fellow M4Mers will take their bids! :-)

I'd like to do my part to aid, financially, the relief efforts in Asia.

What I propose is to auction of my services... one FREE overnight session, to the highest bidder...

What do you get? The good karma that comes from helping out your fellow man, and a great night of fun n frolic with a sexy Canadian guy.

"But how do I know that the money I donate is going to help the people who need it, and not into Matt's greedy little hands?" some might ask.

When the auction is closed, the person who has the highest bid will go to a red cross web site of their choosing(American, Canadian or International... web addresses follow) make a 100% tax deductible donation for the agreed amount, and forward a copy of the receipt to me... as proof that the money has been deposited... and we work out the specifics of when and where we are to meet.

The details... aka fine print... depending on where the highest bidder chooses to meet for our session, all travel must be provided... as part of the deal.

Currently the death toll is estimated at over 155,000... to give some perspective on just how many people that is... the average attendance at a Yankees home game last year was 42,000... triple that, and you still don't equal the amount that have died.

We can't do anything to help the dead, but we can help to rebuild, supply food, medical equipment, and other forms of humanitarian aid.

If you are reading this, and choose not to participate for whatever reason, please consider making a donation anyway...

WHERE TO MAKE DONATIONS

American Red Cross https://www.redcross.org/donate/donation-form.asp

Canadian Red Cross

https://www.paypaq.com/redcross/en/

International Red Cross

Auction closes at midnight on Jan 15th... let's help out our fellow man, and have some fun in the process

I prefer to post my opinions in THIS THREAD, where they are appropriate. I SEE NO NEED to open a new thread to post my disgust at these proceedings, when my disgust is about THIS THREAD! :(

Well of course you are! That is the whole point isn't it? Soap opera bullshit of who will be crowned the Queen of the Bidding War for Escort services, is what is IMPORTANT! Is there anyone, outside of Doug69, that doesn't recognize how pathetic this self-serving shit is? :-(

Posted

Self serving?

1. Money is being raised for people in desperate need.

2. Attention through this sort of publicity is being generated, so even curmudgeons may feel moved enough to wipe the cobwebs off their wallets and contribute, quietly, if that is their preference.

Self serving? Well, a couple of escorts may get their name in the public but at least it is in a positive vein.

Self serving? Jerry Lewis has heard it for years. Tell it to Toyota when they auction a car on EBay for the tsunami victims.

Please keep the subject in this thread positive and on the subject matter, not some self serving masturbation.

Thank you.

I think VaHawk is way off-base here. I don't see this as any different from a celebrity auction for charity purposes. Sure, the final bidder is usually paying way more than necessary for some service or good that is associated with a celebrity but the $$$ is going to charity so that is all to the good. The point VaHawk makes about the escort making the donation of money is not how a celebrity auction works and is irrelevant in this context.

As for the tax deductions, well, as a taxpayer I'm also funding every person who pays $50,000 to have a round of golf with some superstar, in the name of charity, and I don't even like golf. SO WHAT!

Finally, the escort is making a contribution also since he is foregoing the fee that he would otherwise earn for an overnight and he gets NO tax deduction. So good for him. :)

Wow! vahawk seems a little intemperate. I dont know Matt, but from his reviews and his messages here, he seems like a really nice guy trying to raise money to help people. I wish I could afford to bid in this auction, because I'd love to do it. But then, I live too far away in Philadelphia.

Way to go, Matt!

And now that all of that is over with...on with the show...let the bidding continue! Less than a week to go!!

It's a good enough idea to draw out a lurker from the shadows into the light.

I'll up it to $1600 for Juan. I think that puts me ahead, at least for now.

Nobody's motives are ever 100% pure. Not mine, not yours. I never even know fully what motivates me to do anything. Ask me tomorrow and I might have a differently weighted list of motivations for any given action than I have today. And your perceptions of what my motivations are will never be the same as what I think they are. It's all subjective. It's one of the drawbacks of being human (or joys depending on how you look at it). And in this case, I can't really see that any of it is going to make one iota of difference to the people who will derive some benefit from my bidding.

That's so true; I like your attitude. I've often thought the same thing: I mean, didn't Mother Theresa derive some pleasure out of helping people? If so, wasn't that a selfish motive? But as you said, it is inconsequential because the recipients of her love and charity benefitted.

I'm always glad when lurkers "unlurk" and start posting. I hope you continue, and I hope other lurkers come out, too. :)

RE: I am what I am

Packy,

Shit dude, you gotta post more often !!!! Agree with every word !!!

For me, I try to keep the intent as pure as possible and then act...of course this is in the case of personal moral decisions...not in the hiring of escorts and giving to charity.

The guys who are bidding could easily get another escort (or the same one) for much less. Good looks guys !!!

As for Mother Teresa (I still cant believe she's Albanian), well I think her heart was ordered in the right way, that she derived pleasure from doing what is truly Right. Theoretically, we also should get some type of happiness from doing good.

bidding UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE...

WOW.... this has taken off far better than I had hoped... I expected to help raise aprox. 1000US, but I underestimated the generosity of the patrons here in hooville:)

Thank you...

With the exception of a small minority, response has been extremly favorable... As many of you know, I have been visiting this site for a long time... and have seen this message center at it's worst... so I anticipated some questions and accusations of my motives...it's unfortunate, but I expected it. So I put on my protective cup, gotta protect the boys, and prepared for attack.

I've so far been accused of... 'using others suffering as a marketing tool', 'grandstanding',and 'attempting to be the mother theresa of all hookerdom'... (Yep someone actually emailed me that gem: )

Accuse me of whatever you want, question my motives, call me names, throw rocks if you have to. I know my intentions are good, and thankfully, so do the majority of others here.

Ok that's out of the way... now we move on.

So, where do we stand?

Bidding for an overnight with Matt(that would be me: ).... currently stands at a whopping 1600 US.... fucking amazing!

And for Juan... a fellow Vancouverite... it must be the water... who so generously jumped on board and offered up his goodies for the cause... bidding also currently stands at 1600US...

---------------------------------------------------------------

Some questions have come up that need to be addressed.. technicalities.. this is, after all, the first time I've attempted something like this.. so there are some glitches in the process

I will try to post on a daily basis, to update where we are with bids... (it gets a bit muddy in all the posts, so I will try to keep it a bit clearer)

Bids are in US$... just to keep it simple

Can the winning bid be donated to an alternate charity other than the Red Cross?

OF COURSE... AS LONG AS IT IS DIRECTED TO THE RELIEF IN SOUTH EAST ASIA...that is why I chose to do this after all, so as long as it's a reputable charity, and you can provide me with proof of donation, I am fine with the charity of your choosing.

I chose the Red Cross because it is an internationally known organisation, and a recognised symbol for aid... but again, as long as the donation is going to the tsunami relief effort, you may choose your charity.

hope that clears up a few things.. now let's get back to a nice, hopefully hijack free, bidding war: )

Hey Matt!

You rock, man!:)

What an inspiring example for me! Always nice, kind, helpfull... and sexy as hell!

Thanks, man. And thanks for having created this fun auction...

And to all of you who have supported, offered a bid, or even attack this... thank you very much.

Being only the "extra" escort in this auction, I will go back to lurk in silent and leave Matt and the guys in charge to take care of the rest.

Keep up with the fun!:p

RE: A technicality

Is this ebay style, then? The last, highest bid that is time stamped by the Hooboy clock as coming in at 11:59 or earlier on Saturday night is the winner, regardless of higher bids that might come in at 12:00, 12:01 or 12:10? Or is someone going to be around to moderate it "going, going, gone" auctioneer style?

RE: A technicality

High bidder at the witching hour (as measured by Daddy's clock) wins all the coconuts. Or some kinda nuts.

I'm thinking next Saturday will be a MIGHTY damn busy night around here. You snooze, you lose.

US Residents should also remember that charitable contributions made by the end of January can be claimed on the 2004 tax return. (Restrictions may apply.) As always, consult your accountant.

(I love Matt's nuts, and want to know Juan's nuts ... always loved mixed nuts!)

Is that Daddy's Cock or Daddy's Clock, just want to make sure??? For fairness sake. I think that if it is the former we have a little more time or is that less time!! HUGS Chuck50!!!!

RE: A technicality

Definitely Daddy's clock.

He's a little choosey (but not much) about who shares his cock. But the clock is public. :9

>Why you feel it is "noble" to auction your services to the

>highest bidder, is beyond my ken. And all of the fools bidding

>way beyond the price is ridiculous, and is the absolute height

>of "look at me!, I'm so concerned!, but only if I'm recognized

>for my contributions! and I am SO SPECIAL!".

Why isn't it noble? First of all, an auction like this is FUN. Secondly, it's already rasing quite a bit more for the tsunami victims than if the escort would have simply donated an overnight rate (and likely more than if a client just chose to donate with no real incentive). So it helps the people who need it, and it's fun for the parties involved. I hardly think it's simply for recognition on either end. Though even if that does happen, what's it hurt? A very nice donation is made, and the people involved get something good out of it to boot.

A lot of times auctions are held with the proceeds benefitting some organization, group, or cause. How is this any different?

>Especially when

>such contributions, will be written off by a charitable tax

>donation, meaning that the rest of the American citizens are

>funding this atrocity. Ergo, you are donating nothing and the

>winning bidder is donating nothing!

Give me a break. Any donation by anyone is good for a tax break, and anyone is able to donate directly or bid. If they want the tax break, they can go for it. Saying the taxpayers have to pay for it, IMO, is silly. Donating directly would have the same effect, and the money is going to the tsunami victims. I just don't see your problem here and why you think this is worse than just donating.

Unfortunately I do not have the $$ to bid on you but I have given to the Red Cross. Don't let the buggers get you down. You are doing something quite unique and cool. I hope that whomever actually "receives" you has a good time.
