One Finger,

You should be made an honorary New Yorker for that pic !!!! However,

your technique is only one of the ways the finger can be displayed. My personal favorite is to use the entire finger, and opposed to bending the fingers on either side of the middle finger, at the knuckle.

As for your physical description, well that doesnt matter to me...after all its all about the attitude and yours kicks ass !!!

Thanx Hotdad, Rm and Funseeker for your suggestions. I have my interns out buying up all of the collections and checking the internet for these songs.

I have a friend that works for a known music channel and asked him why hasn't someone come up with a show where the old disco acts could sing their songs.

I mean do y'all remember that horrific year when Diana was trying to force the "Faux Supremes" down our throats..VH1 did a special around her but the most amazing part was when Donna came out in full voice and blew everyone away. Many of these acts still perform but not together. Thelma, Gloria both still sound great. He said this has been discussed many times before but the time isn't right.

If they could get a concert with all these acts don't you guys think they would do big bucks!! The last real concert I went to was when Whitney was at Radio City during the Bodyguard year ..she just started touring and was in excellent voice..the second time I went to see her at RC she started her "Crack Is Wack" shit and cancelled an hour before.

I would pay anything to see all these disco acts get together..maybe they could perform for charity??

Just Dreaming.......

Please keep the hits comming..

VH-1 did that a couple of years ago; it was a 2-hour special with Irene Cara, KC and the Sunshine Band, Maxine Nightingale, Thelma Houston, etc. I would have rather seen old clips. :p

It would have been better if it were Mary & Cindy but I think Scherrie & Lynda (who were real Supremes, not faux, in the 70's) did a great job. I saw the concert at MSG and Diana was in really good voice & she did all the old hits in their original keys. Not bad for a post-menopausal diva, no? :)

I'm pretty sure there was a recent PBS special with old disco acts performing their hits (unless I dreamed it!). The old Rhino Records (and now Shout Factory, a new label begun by the guys who founded Rhino) did a good job of collaborating with PBS to put together concert shows of performers from the past performing their old hits. There were a few Doo Wop shows, at least one old rock'n'roll show, a '70s soul show, and, I believe, a separate disco show. As I recall the doo wop shows were produced by the Philadelphia area PBS station, but I don't recall which stations produced any of the others. In the San Francisco Bay Area, the "South Bay" PBS station seems to regularly play these concerts (and other interesting music shows), but San Francisco's KQED unfortunately seems bent on showing only old Lawrence Welk and Ed Sullivan shows.

Well the bash was last weekend and it was blast. Thanxs to all of you who in your own way contributed to its success.

The first song we played was "Love to Love You Baby" which was the first disco song I remember hearing on the radio and the last song...................you guessed it.................Last Dance. The crowd was in heaven and there were even people running up to me in tears because we played their songs. My friend put all the songs on discs and had them pre-mixed. It was amazing that we could go the whole evening w/out playing a song made after 1982. Some of the highlights were "Dancing Queen"(of course) and my Ross homage starting with "The Boss" to the disco version of the Supremes medley. The crowd simply refused to leave the dance floor with my rented "Disco Ball" hanging over head.

The music was the highlight...even with open bar and free food and sweets for over 235 people.

"There will be another song for me ....and I will sing it..

I will drink the wine while it is warm ..and never let them catch me looking at the sun yeah" ........Jimmy Webb/Donna Summer

Thanxs Again

Hey Nortonman02

I have somewhere the original albums of the late great Vicki Sue. They contain the extended versions of Hold Tight, Don't Try To Win Me Back Again and Daylight..A few years ago they released a 12inch with both classics back to back. I think I added that to my collection. However sadly I have not seen these songs on any CD..x(

Keep Tryin tho...........

"oooh it ain't easy no no no sayin sorry no I can't go out with my friends...cause a real sex (I used to sing) do not get started..till everybody else is in.....and it looks like "Daylight" gonna catch me up...... gonna catch me up again..."

I love this stuff...

RE: Norton...Paul...Boston...Eastbay..Godiva and Grace

I hope you are recovered by now. Also, nortonman02 hasn't posted since asking how he could know if his escort is disease free. I wonder if he made the wrong choice...

While I am at it, where is Godiva these days? Or BostonGuy?

Not only is Rick hot but he's so right. You can't possibly have a disco party without Miss Merman! I play it in the morning when I can't get motivated, or when I'm in a lousy mood. There's nothing like a good dose of Ethal to perk things up!

I'm not sure where he falls in, but Barry White and the Love Unlimited Orchestra always makes my day...at least it makes me dance like Ally McBeal.
