I just saw one of my reviews, posted about 2 weeks ago, and noticed that it had been edited before it was put up for viewing. I have written a number of reviews over the past few years and this was the only one with which I have noticed this happening.

What was edited out was no more "racy" that I see in many other reviews and actually had a point in being included in the review.

Has anybody else noticed this happening?

No. Did you write to Daddy? You should.

Daddy now edits any review content he feels may compromise the escort, masseur, client and this site. As with anything, edits remain at his discretion.

Is it possible to give "examples or definition" to the words "may compromise"?

It is not for me to define 'may compromise.' As per my original comment, all content and whether or not it is edited, or even posted, remains at Daddy's discretion. Daddy runs this site as a one-man show... sometimes he is fortunate to have assistants, but he keeps this site going on donations, ads, etc. He does it, keeps it going, as a service to all. If you aren't satisfied, by all means contact him directly.

So Daddy edits, doesn't publish reviews, or even makes them disappear. This is his sandbox.

I used to sniff at this, not any more. What he's had to deal with in the EOY fiasco, and ensuing fall-out, let him take the reins!

I concur.

What I get from all of this is that reviews on rentmen, M4M massage, masseurfinder, this site and others too many to mention are all subject to edit/delete at anytime by the individual site's ownership/management. The reviews at this site may be no more the actual review of the reviewer than at any other site.

a review I wrote a month ago or so was edited to be less explicit....ended up sounding a bit weird, but I understand life in a post-rentboy world.....

The FAQ page has instructions for how to ask questions that are not addressed on that page.

The same happened to me... are we back to the not-explicit reviews?

Btw I'm glad to know another frequent poster on here also write reviews, sometimes I wonder WHO is really hiring and WHO is just talking on here.

I've noticed some minor tweaks but my reviews are never explicit anyway. I'm quite fine with whatever edits help protect the site and participants - management, client and companion. I enjoy writing reviews for great encounters - they are a fun way to relive the experience.

When I have so-so or not-so-hot meets then I don't write one.

I think that is making a mountain out of a molehill. The last review I submitted was edited slightly to correct a very clumsy sentence and remove some explicit stuff. It was obviously done to protect me and the provider, and in no way changed the essence of the review. That's a far cry from removing critical information that is the difference between a good review and a bad review.

Daddy, and Hooboy before him, have always exercised their right to edit or even refuse to publish a review. Some readers will undoubtedly dislike this or be suspicious of reviews because of it, but anyone who has been here a long time and knows the administrators of the site will put more trust in the general accuracy of reviews here than anywhere else.

I review everyone I see, and noticed my free text being laundered a bit for the first time last December. My language wasn't "racy" IMHO but I guess it does qualify as explicit -- a line saying the escort was an enthusiastic bottom was dropped. I asked about this change, because like funguy says there was a point to my statement. And there is an objective field where one can characterize the escort as top or bottom. Got a nice response explaining the decision to be more cautious now than before. I respect that, and too am grateful for this resource. I'm now less explicit in the reviews I write. Still a helluva lot more informative than the RM review process!

Wait a minute. Are you telling us that you asked Daddy why he edited your review instead of posing the question in the Forum? And you received a definitive explanation? Wow - that communication thingy some of us talk about actually works in practice!! Thanks for letting us know.
