I am returning for the festivities in PS in 2017 on April 22 and 23. I am a travel agent and always plan WAY in advance. I'm looking to start a conversation about the various housing options in PS. This year, 2016, I stayed at Helios. It was filthy, run down, bug ridden, the sheets didnt fit the bed, the overhead fan would not shut off, the lights were alll burned out. BUT it had a great pool with lovely gardens, a slings room, a BIG hot tube/spa with what appeared to be tapioca pudding floating around, lots of naked men, hook ups galore, etc. Fortunately, I dont have to decide if I want to go back to Helios: They are closed for change of ownership and, one hopes, some repairs.

Where can one go to get the freedom and hedonism of Helios, with a better sanitary, service and repair standard? Nate of LA and I can tell you that Helios 2016 wasn't acceptable. Yuck!

Last year I waited until February or March to make my decision and many places were booked up. The discussions on the Forum were perfuncotory and basically a listing of hotels in the area. I would really like to hear from the the experienced guys about where they stay and why. I don't mind paying a premium for a really quality place. An extra $100/night isnt a deal breaker. I want a place where one can be as butch or fem as we please, where we can grope each other (or do even more), where we can display our goodies and admire the goodies of our buddies without censorship or risking botulism or other secondary infections. Let's talk about it now instead of in March.

I have stayed at two of the following and visited the other two:

The Hacienda at Warm Springs

760-327-8111

www.thehacienda.com

Have not stayed here but have visited several times. This is the most expensive place and definitely the classiest. The rooms are lovely. It has two pools and gorgeous grounds. It is clothing optional. Centrally located.

East Canyon Hotel & Spa

760-320-1928

www.eastcanyonps.com

Have stayed here twice. It is very nice and the grounds are attractive. It is NOT clothing optional. Somewhat out of the way

INNdulge

760-327-1408

www.indulge.com

Have not stayed here but have visited. It is smaller than it appears on its website. The grounds are pretty. I have not seen the rooms. It is clothing optional. Vibes here are somewhat similar to those of Helios but certainly better maintained and probably not quite as raunchy.

Caca Ocotillo

760-327-6110

www.casaocotillo.com

Have stayed here. Small but very pretty pool and grounds. The rooms are very well maintained and nice. Great off street parking. Clothing optional. Considerably out of the way.

It used to be that any business (with the possible exception of bars) that openly identified as "gay," for example "gay restaurant,"gay resort," etc. meant that you paid a lot of money for that word "gay" and received inferior service and/or product. Apparently, some gay business owners still haven't realized that it's not nice to rip off their LGBT brothers and sisters.

I had a private chuckle about this recommendation bc I just jacked off this morning to a 14-minute vid of a cute twinkinsh European couple who invited another guest at INNdulge to hold the camera while they played with each other. Bring a rag...http://www.xtube.com/video-watch/Couple-fucks-bareback-in-front-of-a-very-tactile-camera-guy-28078851

P.S. - I share this purely with the intent of giving you a better sense for the grounds and the rooms. Obviously! :)

Triangle Inn looks very nice - they have a beautiful 4 bedroom house with a private pool that is attached to the main property. Maybe some regulars on here might consider renting it together

Is the Vista Grande still a viable gay place to stay in Palm Springs? I stayed there many years ago in one of their one-bedroom apartments and it was very nice. Not sure what it's like today though.

I "visited" both INNdulge and Helios during the 2015 gathering. I found Helios to be exactly as you describe, but thought INNdulge quite nice. The INNdulge room I saw was cozy but well-appointed and comfortable. It would be tough to stay under the radar at INNdulge, though, as everyone's comings/goings sorta hafta happen in full view of whoever might be hanging out at the centrally-located pool.

I’ve stayed at East Canyon Hotel twice and another small seven room hotel in the Warms Springs area (Pura Vida) which is now closed and is a private residence. Both establishments advertise that they are NOT clothing optional. However, later in the evening you may occasionally find someone in the hot tub relaxing au-naturel. Both of these places seem to cater to couples most likely in the 35 – 60+ age group. Both offer a secluded, relaxing, and peaceful experience. These places are definitely not a party hotel. During my stays, most guests are from LA and are looking for a quick get away trip. While East Canyon markets to the gay community, you may find a straight couple staying as well. East Canyon welcomes everyone.

I choose East Canyon partly from Epigonos’s prior posts and have not regretted staying there. The facilities nice, attractive and well maintained.

The Warm Springs area is home to a variety of clothing optional hotels and resorts. Some establishments offer day and/or night passes to guests not staying at the facility. When I have looked into staying at INNdulge, they required a 4-night stay which does not fit my schedule.

East Canyon is located north of downtown (one street north of Helios) whereas the Warm Spring area establishments are south of downtown. Both are 5 minutes away from downtown and since I’ve rarely experienced any traffic issues in PS, the locations between the two areas are not an issue. I do get a car while visiting PS. However, there is public transportation – Palm Springs Buzz – that offers a free trolley service that travels in a loop that has a stop close by.

You can always get a day/night pass to another resort for entertainment and then decide to stay at another establishment for sleep and the upscale amenities.

I stayed at East Canyon for the 2014 Palm Springs get together. The place was quiet, though when I came back with a very handsome man and we decided to use the hot tub, a sizable number of men seemed to sense that there was young testosterone in the hot tub and there was an efflux from a variety of rooms to the hot tub. Clothing definitely became optional.

@Truereview,

Yes, the video certainly displayed the charms of the hotel and the friendliness of the clientele. You are so resourceful when given a research assignment. Thank you!

Wish I could stay hard when being fucked.

As I read Glenn’s thread, what’s posted here by Rudynate immediately came to mind! How unfortunate this is; thus I try to do keen research before booking a “gay lodging!"

INNdulge has lots of excellent reviews and being seen cumming and going may not be a problem for most of us. In fact, it could be a positive. One thing- since I am leaning towards this hotel, I contacted them and they have a three night minimum on our weekend. Not a problem if you want to continue to play (or lay) Sunday night and leave Monday as I did this year and plan to do again. It makes partaking of Sunday's activities more relaxed.

@Truereview,

Wish I could stay hard when being fucked.

I'm usually kissing or looking at my bottom directly in the eye - so I could give a rat's ass whether he is hard or not. So come sit by me, darling man.

And yes, I can be an eye contact whore when I'm drilling.

Yowzah! Now that's my kind of eye contact & my kind of top-smoking!!

Glennnn makes a really good point here. If one is to take full advantage of the Palm Springs Weekend it is probably best to plan on a minimum three day visit -- arriving on Friday and departing on Monday. I, on the other hand, like arriving on Friday afternoon and leaving on Tuesday after breakfast thus spending four days.

This coming year I plan to get together with Ace and Tyler again on Monday morning for some serious play time and then a late breakfast or early lunch with these two exciting studs. At my age I then need the rest of Monday and that night to recover before returning home on Tuesday. I know life is tough but I keep trying anyway.

Poor me.....I stay at all those mild-mannered family-friendly quiet spots. I live a sheltered life. :p

And whose fault is that????? It doesn't have to be that way. Come join us on the wild side. You have nothing to lose but the untouched, lily-white color of your cock, and I've heard vitamin D from sunshine actually can make it bigger! Just do it!

Wayne and I have already booked a room at Canyon Club for that weekend. We're arriving on Thursday, and staying until Monday. Woohoo!

I'm very surprised to hear that Helios is closed, since I was just there for their play party two nights ago. ;) By the way, the place was packed!

Hey Robster great to know that you and Wayne are already booked for 2017. It just wouldn't be a Palm Springs Weekend without the two of you in attendance.

What a sweet thing to say, thank you!! We wouldn't miss it for the world. Can't wait to see you and everyone else there again.

Before I moved to the area my favorite place to stay by far was The Hacienda. It is not cheap, but it is Gay, classy, clean, and clothing optional. It's not cruisy like Helios or INNdulge, which is why I liked it. It's more likely a place you'll meet a charming couple from South Africa or share cocktails with others staying there as you hang out by the pool. And of course you can have all the sex you want in your own room. I've stayed there with both clients ands friends and I'd definitely recommend it if you are looking for a nice place without the requirement of being in something that feels overtly like a sex club.
