Have you ever spent or would you be open to spending such a Holiday with a client?

And not just the lying, the lack of awareness of publicly announcing your lie by doing something like that.

 

I had a friend once who told me we could no longer meet up because he was going through emotional problems and his therapist had said to minimize social interactions (because these stressed him out). I respected this and stopped contacting him. Two days later a picture on his Facebook appears of him and five other friends jampacked in a car on a road trip to Germany... That certainly was an interesting way of avoiding social interaction.

I have never hired during any of the Holidays. One time though, late afternoon before Christmas Eve, I was having drinks at Stella's in NY (a pick up bar where many escorts cruised - the bar was known for that). I picked up one of the guys - he was new there - for a quickie at a nearby sleaze bag hotel. When it was over and I paid him he said: 'Thank you, now I can buy groceries and food for my kids'. Talk about a mood killer. I thought it was so depressing. Never again.

The days around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years have never been fruitful for hobbying. Alot of guys take well-deserved vacations to spend with family/friends, and it would be considerate if they would edit their ads to specify their unavailability. However, most do not which wastes the time and effort of the clients who call, text, or email them while they are on holiday. I stopped trying to hire around these days long ago.

This thread actually gave me an idea. My partner has a knee-jerk hostility to mainstream Christianity. I'm not that passionate about the topic, no use for it, but no active hostility. Since I was a little kid, I have always enjoyed midnight Mass on Christmas Eve. He has always refused to go to Grace Cathedral with me for midnight Mass, because of the way he feels. It just occurred to me, I could hire some arm candy to go to Christmas Eve Mass with me - an unconventional Christmas gift to myself. Sounds hare-brained, but I just might do it.

As I get older, the more I realize how many people are alone on the holidays. I never assume someone has a place to hang their hat, or the glow of a hearth to sit by. This holiday season, a local snowbird, from the dark and frigid north, has come to FTL to provide a warm and caring environment for those who might otherwise be alone. The group of friends, will include clients and escorts alike, and at the end of the day, we will all be better for it.

The only holidays I wouldn't work if called up would be Thanksgiving and fourth of July. Pretty much every other holiday is on the table if I didn't have plans or could work what I have planned around a meet up.

I pretty much always spend the holidays with clients. Thus, it might be a safe assumption to make that at least one client on this forum spends holidays with an escort :-). Day-long engagements though as opposed to hour-long sessions. Thanksgiving, Xmas, New Year's, and Valentine's are the ones that come to mind as far as people not wanting to be alone. Of course, I don't really have anywhere to go at the holidays, and I'm mercenary, but there's nothing weird to me about working on the holidays. People in service professions are doing it all the time. I take vacations and see family and friends at other times of the year when it better fits my schedule.

It's true. Many people work holidays--I used to get double time when I did hospital work---I was living away from "home". My workmates and I made our own holiday, I'd see friends and one year I went out to see family on Dec 26 because I needed the double time. I had an aunt who was married to a bum who gambled and drank away a lot of their money. She was a nurse and holidays were like gold because of the higher pay rate.
