I would like to try prostate massage or milking, but don't know, how,to begin. I suffer from BPH and thought this might give me some release and relief. Is this a service offerred by every intimate masseur, or where do I find one skilled in this treatment?

Thanks

You never know if that will help or make things worse, Glenn. I have something called chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome. Ejaculation as well as digital exams can put me in a world of pain. That's one reason I don't bottom. Everyone is individual. I just want you to proceed slowly although if masturbation doesn't help-I'm not sure if manipulation of the prostate will either. I'm betting the internal pressure built up by the ejaculation process causes more pressure on the prostate than most external manipulation.

Many of them advertise that they do it.

Uros used to do it, but not very much anymore. I can't tell whether they don't it because they're embarrased or because they think the patient is embarrassed. It's just pretty rare to get an MD to do prostate massage.

The first time I had bacterial prostatitis, at age 22, 40+ years ago, the doc said it was an essential part of the treatment. I had to go back to him several times for prostate massage. It was no picnic. He poked hard.

Bob Patrick offers a Prostate massage. Had a nice session with him about three years ago.

Thanks so much everyone. I can always count on you guys. Again, sorry I posted on the wrong forum (although I do think the juxtaposition of the thread title and the usual content of this particular forum is accidentally hilarious as azdr1070 pointed out). My problem is I use a Kindle Fire for posting and it has a very limited keyboard. Can't highlight and copy or delete. I promise to be more careful until I buy a better instrument.

My issue is a huge prostate without much sensitivity for which I am already taking a pharmacopea of pills while I wait for some positive results. In the meantime, I thought i might take the matter in my own hands ( there's a picture!!) And try to use a more holistic approach to coax the Damn thing back to action. I have my doctor's permission, if not his helpful fingers.

Glenn-I'm not familiar with the Kindle Fire. I mean I know what it is. But I've never used one. According to this 2011 post you could copy and paste with that version of the Kindle Fire. I'm betting you can in yours too. In fact it sounds very similar to how I cut and paste on my iPhone.

"This function is a bit confusing on the Fire. To copy text, tap and hold a word, then drag the markers to highlight the text you want to copy. Then, tap the highlighted text to add it to the clipboard. To paste, long-press a textfield and select "Paste"."

As for highlighting-if the options aren't there when you copy/paste to underline, bold, or make something italic, you can do that from the options in the top of the posting box here in the Forum.

Try to avoid 5AR inhibitors (finasteride, dutasteride). They mess with your sex hormones. If you have to take one, dutasteride would probably be preferable to finasteride.

I took an alpha blocker Flomax for a while. Initially, it caused retrograde ejaculation, where, when you orgasm, the cum goes back into your bladder instead of out by the normal route. Did not like that at all. After a while, the retrograde ejaculation stopped and an interesting thing happened - I started having mind-blowing orgasms - like whole-body orgasms that were just amazing. Had to stop the Flomax because it allowed my diastolic pressure to go too low.

Now, I take Cialis daily 5 mg. Love the stuff.

You should learn to like your uro. Mine is a total doll of a man.

Rudynate,

Buddy, you are the greatest! This is really the first, practical, first hand advice I have had except for an amazing PM conversation with another if our brothers on this forum. Thank you a million times. I am trying to be patient and let the rx do the job, but it is hard. I am currently in the retrograde climax phase where nothing much cums out and the climax is really just "eh?" Did thus also happen to you? I came out to my straight urologist this week. Other than a raised eyebrow, he was very nonchalant after the safe sex lecture. Cool guy. May I ask where you get the Cialis and how much you pay? I'm paying $500/month PM me if you prefer.

Yep, exactly the same. I hope you get the extremely pleasant side-effect that I got from it.

The 5 mg. formulation of Cialis is approved both for ED and BPH. If the diagnosis is ED, insurance won't cover it. But if the diagnosis is BPH, insurance may cover it. Kaiser covers it for me because I had failed on an alpha blocker. I get it for a $35.00/month copay. Full retail is close to $300.00/mo. Docs may not know all of this. My uro didn't. When I told him about it, he said "Let's give it a try." He didn't think it would work. He was amazed when Kaiser approved the request for a formulary exception.

I think I may go to the PS event. I'll see you there.

If you are unlucky enough to not have coverage for Cialis, it is available in generic formulation (Tadalafil).

On line availability without Rx. Two good sites are Tadalista.com and healthymedpharmacy.com.

Prices change constantly so check other sites as well.

BTW - my patients say that generic works just as well as brand for this.

Good Luck and
