Hi hunterlee coming in on Friday and leaving on Monday is probably best. It allows you time to attend all of the various functions and not be rushed. If I remember correctly the Hyatt is located on Palm Canyon in downtown Palm Springs which would be fine. Some guys like staying in a gay resort but the Hyatt would work.

I have never been to one of these weekends.

What would be the best dates to come in?

Should I fly in Friday or Saturday and leave Monday?

Would the Hyatt in Palm Springs be an okay place to stay in?

Sorry for all the questions !

When you come and leave is entirely up to you, but the Sunday afternoon event is considered the highlight by many attendees. The Hyatt is right downtown, and an easy walk to the Saturday night dinner, but strangely enough, I have never known anyone who stayed there.

the Hyatt is in a great location for exploring downtown, but is a bit, uhhh, Hyatt-ish.....I put my "guest" from last year's get-together up there and I went and stayed at a motel out north highway 111....he likes to stay up late and go carousing a bit.....I'm in bed by 10:30 or so

I was able to get a decent rate at it via hotwire.....as mentioned, it's in a walkable location for the Saturday evening dinner, but you'll need a ride to the Sunday afternoon pool party....if you don't have a car, ask somebody at the dinner if they can come get you

I can pick up Hunter, and take him back to the hotel if he needs a ride ton the dinner or pool party. :)

Just let me know, Hunter. I'll be glad to do it.

Umm...is "if he needs a ride" a metaphor?

Lol. . Oh No. I'll be glad to give Hunter a lift. Who knows, I might be staying there myself actually as love the Hyatt. The rooms there are spacious and quite luxurious since they've remodeled the joint.

I'll be renting an SUV for that particular weekend, so can pick up a few more who may need a lift to the pool party. :).

Interesting developments. PS 2016 will put white party to shame.

I agree, Jaw. Maybe a bigger turn out than last year at the speed it's going so far. ;);)

I'm thinking about renting a nice 2/2 hotel condo, would anyone want to split it?

- 1100 - 1200 sq ft

-very modern & new

- high end kitchen / stainless steel (beautiful)

- gorgeous bathrooms & bed rooms (spacious closets, fossil stone, rain shower head)

- super clean & gated property secured access

- washer & dryer in unit

- private balcony with mountain views / private patio with koi pond (depends on what floor we are on)

- pool, spa & sauna in common area (pool area has misters & cabanas)

- 7 min drive from airport

cons

- no gym

- you must wear clothes on the property

April 29 (Friday) to May 2 (Monday)

I went to the DC luncheon and had a great time—everyone was so wonderful and a few insisted I should attend the Palm Springs event, too.

I hadn't even given it thought because I'm on the other side of the country, but after the luncheon and reading through this thread (plus I had a lovely dream last night that I was back in LA) I'm considering it. I would love to get to meet you all. The only downsides: 1) Time, 2) cost, 3) business. I have a regular job so taking time off may be tricky, but not impossible. Cost is the bigger problem, which is tied to #3: how much business sense does it makes to attend. I could justify the upfront costs if it led to something, but seeing as I'm trans, my market is already super small, so I probably won't be finding anyone interested in spending time with me. Basically, it would be a super fun weekend, which is cool, but I don't have that kind of budget to spend that much on a purely social/fun event. Maybe one day…

I'll keep watching this thread and perhaps live vicariously through you all instead :p

I understand that your "market is supersmall" but one way to expand it is to expand your circle of contacts. If you put out that you are considering going, perhaps you might generate enough business to cover your costs. Good luck.

Hey guys -- As if buying a new (to me, anyway) car were not enough, I just booked tickets to and hotel in Palm Springs since I missed DC and could use some time in the sun to look forward to after this past weekend's storm.

See you in Palm Springs!

Glad to see you do not plan to be bound to the east coast. Our Palm Springs weekend can definitely use a touch of your daring and panache. Look forward to seeing you again.

Also looking forward to meeting quoththeraven and all of you in PS. You have become part of my neighborhood, one and all. The support, the ideas, the experience, the kindness, the occasional, deserved cries of "bull shit"...... It's been pretty amazing. Couldn't have made it through the last few months without you folks!

Has anyone ever stayed at La Dolce Vita and if so, would you recommend it? I'm looking for flight+hotel deals right now and that place seems to be among the better priced options, but is it too good to be true?

Also, how long do people usually stick around? Would it make sense to fly in on the 27th or 28th and possibly see some clients before the big shindig and leave on the 3rd?
