It depends. I don't like the combination of long hair and a full beard. But on the right guy, long(er) hair can be really striking.

Probably a matter of operant conditioning. I went through adolescence in the '70s when every guy I lusted after in jr high onward wore his hair like these guys.

Generally shorter is more appealing to me than longer; a couple of these guys with just barely down to the

shoulders I could deal with, and look totally incendiary; but they'd likely look even more appealing to me

with moderately short.

 

I think undercut can look hot. Crewcuts or buzzed not so much to me.

Generally a turn off for me. On the right guy, mid-length hair is okay but I don't know that I've ever seen a guy with long hair whom I thought was more attractive because of his hair. Quite the opposite, all of the guys in photos above would likely look more attractive to me with shorter hair.

Long hair, especially shoulder length or longer, is a turn-off, not that it's an immediate disqualification. No, I wouldn't throw Chris Hemsworth out of bed, though I really prefer his clean-cut look. Unkempt hair or beards are even bigger turn-offs.
