RIP Anne. She & Jerry were one of the great comedy teams of all times. I remember them from back in the 60's.

Yes! Even though their "kvetching" comedy was about things which happened in their real life, they always seemed to have a cutting edge back when they were so successful in the 60's on the variety/talk show circuit! In addition, Meara really did become a very fine actress after they went on to their separate acting careers!

I enjoyed her acting through her career. In the late 90's she played the part of a mom of one of the male leads, in a recurring role. An elderly parent who has a rapidly developing case of dementia. Did an excellent job.

I think you're thinking of "Sex in the City" on which she played the mother of Steve (David Eigenberg).

It's always impressive when people can extend a show business career over 50 or 60 years ... in this case, it must have helped that "Stiller and Meara" were such a well-loved, fondly remembered comedy duo back in the days of the Sullivan show. Funny now to think that, at the time, there was some novelty to the Irish Catholic girl married to the Jewish boy.

That's the one. I agree about extending acting careers into the "senior" part of life.

From when I was a kid, I remember she and Jerry Stiller had a long running series of clever radio commercials for Blue Nun wine. She and (especially) her husband were terrific on King Of Queens - a woefully under-rated show.

She also played mother to one of the characters on King of Queens
Yes and she winds up marrying Jerry Stiller in the final episodes after an actress and diva player by Lainie Kazan, dumps him because she thought he was gay and she only marries gay men.

One of her funniest roles is in a movie named "The Daytrippers." She stars with the inimitable Parker Posey, Hope Davis, and - be still my heart - Stanley Tucci. My eyes (and other things) bulge every time I see him in the terrace scene near the end of the movie. Very worth seeing.
