Before I even thought of myself as gay I was deployed to Malaysia and there was a culture of hiring girls in bars. I recoiled (why was that not a hint to me?). Years later, and sexual identity better defined, I still didn't consider hiring but there was something to some of the rent boys, but not until a couple of them messaged me out of the blue did I think seriously about it, in the absence of much other action. I've met one of those a guys a few times and now I'm here chatting with the boys. So yes, why not hire?

There are different ways of relating to it all, depending on the story you tell yourself about it. The objective truth is that you sometimes pay for sex. Everything else is a story that you tell yourself about it. You may be telling yourself that you do it because you're old and ugly and you can't get laid and it's better than nothing but what I wouldn't give for a real relationship with a man who really cares about me. But there are much better stories you could tell yourself about it. For example, that you've taken control of your sex life rather than sitting at home alone, you have sex with the men you want, when you want, and you get to do the things with them that you want, etc. Is it such a bad thing to get what you want?

I have a close friend of over forty years. We see each other maybe 3 or 4 times a year. One night at work I had a little down time. I sent him a text. He and another best friend from Chicago, know my ins and outs. One more than the other! The text ended by me asking if he were seeing anyone? He replied: "I hire men." I sent a text creating a profile. As if I were an escort. He shot back that he couldn't believe it. Both of us had LOL's . I was in the middle of hiring for the first time. I can understand why some porn stars don't escort. I've hired escorts for many years. IMHO, being a good, professional escort is a personal attribute not everyone has. Escorts often walk into situations not having the first clue about the client, other than any discussions of expectations prior to arranging the date. I don't know if they do, but if they have the "stomach to do it" they should do it... The average porn shoot pays 800 to 1000 for new guys, SC, RB, and CF might pay 1.500 and pornstars with exclusivity would get 2.000 or 3.000. Colby Taylor was paid up to 5k by Falcon in the early 2000, a huge amount of money for porno even now a days.

 

A good escort just charging 300 for an outcall would make 9k in a month, with trips and overnights even more, some days he might see more than 1 client, some days no clients at all. I wouldn't turn down that kind of money, specially knowing very few guys can escort for a long time.

Second, if he only had sex with guys as good looking as he is his sex life would decline (sounds like bragging but he really is beautiful) and third, he finds something attractive about every client and concentrates on it. I was certainly among those who thought no matter how "desperate" I became for a hook-up, I would never deign to "stoop so low" and hire a whore (sorry for the language, but that's how I thought back then!) ever! Over time (eventually realizing how unfulfilling hook-ups with married men often tended to be) and reading reviews of guys like Jason Branch on sites such as HooBoy's, I finally came to the conclusion that escorts were not necessarily street punks just out for drug money and with the advent of RB and M4RN I finally got enough courage to hire Ares on a trip to New York. I talked with him in adam4adam Baltimore and he complained about his rent going up and other problems that could be resolved by escorting. I suggested it to him and he simply told me he couldn't do it.. he "doesn't have the stomach" to have sex with men like most of us are on this forum.
