I'm with you on that one Mac64 as this will be my first one in Palm Springs. Went to the one in Washington, DC in January and had a BLAST. I'm sure this one will be just as great as the one in DC.

Oliver,

So glad to hear you're on the mend and will be in Palm Springs this year.

In February I got an apartment in San Diego and expect to be transferred here in a few weeks. I'm looking at my schedule and hope to be able to attend my first Palm Springs Weekend. It would be great to see you again and meet some of the other guys from this forum.

if anybody is interested in some mediumishly-tough hiking or some four-wheeling off in the desert, except, of course, during the dinner and pool party times, PM me or post here in the thread.....will be there from Saturday mid-afternoon to Monday about noon.....maybe we can find time?.....

I'm definitely coming to my first weekend. Can't wait. Will there be gratuitous hazing for all the newbies? My shrink said I should try something new, so here we go!

Joshua Tree National Park is awesome and I have an annual pass. it's about one hour away. Saturday or Sunday are out given the schedule but if anybody is staying on Monday and wants to head up to Joshua Tree I'll organize a caravan. Lots of great hikes from one hour and easy to all day and a little strenuous.

Count down is just about at Two weeks and I am looking very much forward to meeting some new men and enjoying the warmth. The weather in Palm Springs though cannot be any better than today in the NYC area. If I could live my whole life in an unvarying clime, today would be the model for it. 72 and Sunny with a light, cool breeze. Heaven

At the moment (4:50pm) in Palm Springs it is sunny and 96 degrees, with 7% humidity and a lovely 7mph breeze. I just got out of my pool.

Was hoping to attend this year. But, found out yesterday my work travel will put me in Portland that weekend. Hopefully I can attend next year since I "should" be relocated to San Diego.

Joshua Tree was SUPERwarm the one time I did a hike there (probably in June), and that was early in the day. The afternoon the camping group sat in the shade and drank water and tried not to move too much.
