You go out of town for four days and several people on here can really get into a tizzy.

 

I can speak only for myself, however based on the interactions I have had with them, I would assume most of the escorts who consistently post on the board, such as Benjamin, Devon, Jeff, or Rick, etc., would believe the following:

 

1. None of us can possibly be the best escort for every single possible client;

 

2. The very best intentioned, hardest working person in any career path can, for any number of possible reasons, provide a poor performance at his job, just as most supervisors would provide a performance review based on a cumulative work experience and not simply on the first day. Obviously, if the employee was not going to work out, you would know it and act upon it early on, but once an escort has established his reputation and has a fair number of reviews, the preponderance of those reviews can be acted upon by a client.

 

3. They may not believe this, but I believe it to be true: at some point, in my opinion, at about a dozen to fifteen positive reviews, anything else is superfluous. While I do believe current reviews help and clients take them into account, if I got only one more review in 2004, I do not believe this would negatively impact my earning potential or otherwise effect me one way or another. On the other hand, the escorts who have a large number of reviews (as David in Seattle is a prime example), will be viewed, IMHO, with caution by clients.

 

This is not a race. If I have 15 great reviews and Benjamin Nicholas has 20 great reviews and Haus Weston has 16, I do not think a client is going to pick one escort over the other. Someone who wants a certain type will look for his most ideal version of that type; while reviews will play a factor, a client who wants a twink or a body builder is not going to hire me if I had 50, 15 or 5 great reviews.

 

4. I believe nearly all of the professional escorts (and I would include the ones who participate on the message center as well as those who do not but otherwise are well reputed) would attempt to treat each client as if he may be a potential reviewer. I have been with clients from this site who either post or write reviews. Sometimes I knew this in advance but most times I did not; I do not think those that decided to review me when I knew in advance wrote a more glowing review because I performed differently than when a review, if written, was unexpected.

 

Finally, in my case, I have asked clients, when they have offered to write a review, to please wait until a second or third meeting. Analogous with a restaurant review, I think I get a better sense of how the meetings went (as feedback) and I believe clients have a sense of what I am like over a period of time when this is the case. I have spoken (and read too many posts) from clients who wrote a favorable review of an escort upon an initial meeting and then felt differently in follow up meetings.

Hey, Hoo - Now that's thinking like a businessman, and I couldn't agree more!

OK, maybe the word 'favor' was not the one to use. I realise these guys are getting paid to do what they do. But in NO WAY would I EVER hodl the threat of a bad review above the head of my escort like the sword of Damacles to force him to do something he didn't want to. Extreme actions like rimming should be negotiated ahead of time. Come on, sometimes it's really stinky down there and we should never expect an escort to provide this service as if it were ordinary.
