This is not a happy thread here. I only post after a circumstance occurs many many times

And this one has occurred dozens of times now. The latest: I am approached by a wanna be client who

Says I am, "extremely hot." Somehow he missed the rates clearly posted in my ad. When I quote him 200

For an hour and 300 for two he replies back that I am ," a very concieted *****." that is a direct quote.

I notice that this behavior is common in smaller markets where Craigslist is a major player. It never happens in DC for example where people are actually cultured and civilized with manners.

I've made a biz choice to no longer work in small markets . The only trouble is that I still have a house in a small market in Sw Florida. Big changes coming for me. I am a big city guy.

The example I gave was a mild one believe it or not. One moment they say u r the hottest guy in Florida and the next (when I don't lower the rate or give a senior citizen discount) they say that I am," just an over the hill hustler.". That is a direct quote used on me 7 times. Mind you though 5 minutes before they said that I was, " a drop dead gorgeous hunk with a huge cock."

Seriously Florida is where I was raised and I love it but God the cheapness of the people! They all think they will live to be 120 years old and they all have their first dollar (with a few notable exceptions). Gods waiting room is a miserable place these days. I do not ever want to be in a place finacially where I am reduced to bargaining and barter.

I can't wait to get back to DC where I am respected and appreciated and where a hundred bucks is cab fare.....not my fee!!!!! @ http://www.rentboy.com/magicmikey @ http://www.rentmen.com/mikeyusatop

You shouldn’t take any of it personally; the compliments or the insults…

DC certainly has it's share of drama and issues, but for the most part... it's not known for being cheap.

I relocated to DC around 13 years ago for work and have loved it for the most part. I've been offered to relocate elsewhere, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

Come on up Mikey! We'll be glad to have ya. :)

I agree with that advice. Who even knows whether these are legitimate prospective customers? They might just be guys who get their kicks out of calling escorts, initially pretending to be interested and then turning the conversations negative. Some people get a kick out of being mean to people just for the sake of being mean.

Mikey, sorry that you are finding Florida so miserable. Florida hasn't cornered the market on rudeness, it is everywhere. I agree with Miamilooker and Maninsoma. Don't take it personally and who knows if this guy was legit. I will admit, there are a portion of the seniors here who are on a fixed income, and have concerns over their finances, but you would be surprised at how many are financially set, but I think as you age, it is natural to want to tighten your belt, literally and figuratively. Take all of this in stride.

Mickey,

I would not take this personally. This happens in many cities, not only in Florida but elsewhere as well. BVB also hit the nail on the head, as any time you have a concentration of seniors, especially those with rather limited fixed incomes, you may have more of these situations.

hate to say it, but this is how sites like CL function. lowest common denominator kind of stuff

paying for sex is something that many men have deep seeded issues with. they feel sex workers are beneath them. these are the folks you should steer clear of, as they only bring negativity and problems into the meet

Oh, shit. Does this mean that Mikey is getting all touchy feely on us and will refuse to verbally abuse me while I'm sucking his cock?

Perhaps he will outsource this part, now that he's made the right connections. http://www.boytoy.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif

Hey guys and thanks for all the positive responses to my thread. It is funny that right after I posted it I got slammed here in Florida! I agree with jimbo about Craigslist. It is trash..... I tried to use it as a link to my rentboy ad for guys who don't know rentboy exists but Cl is like swimming in a sewer. Thanks for the kind words from dc and la and fla!

I shall continue being a nice guy. I am glad daddy's is back for my occasional rant! Lol

Did not realize that Orson Bean had started escorting. Guess things have gone downhill since Match Game 73

Yes I have and would love to live in NYC but it's very expensive but I know I would enjoy living out there and the experience.

My experience with people who seek geographic cures for whatever it is that ails them is that it rarely results in the outcome the individual was seeking.

Typically they whine for an extended period of time but don't do anything constructive to either make the move or improve the situation. Later, if they actually follow through with the move, it doesn't take long for similar complaints to surface once again.

These guys, of course, are different than the regular guy who simply understands that demographics change wherever you go and are interested in finding the best balance of pros and cons to create a of and make a living. Was just talking to a well known, well reviewed guy who moved West from his successful East coast career to Palm Springs. Loves the weather and lifestyle, but the clients are very different than what he was used to and enjoyed. But he understood that he made a calculation based on a balance of strengths and weaknesses.

As I read your threads I am continually curious why someone as successful, confident, motivated and hung as you would stay in Florida if every day is so tortuous? Something doesn't make sense...
