I took the commuter train from Westborough, MA to Yawkey Stadium in Boston.

I say my first game in Fenway Park: Red Sox vs. Chicago Cubs!

Great seats: State STreet pavilion, section 1, row 2.

Cubs beat the Red Sox 2-1. It was *almost* a no hitter, but the Red Sox got a hit in the bottom of the eighth.

Home again. Wonderful sets of "firsts":

First time at Fenway (even through I lived within 10 minutes walk for five years)

Second time to see the Cubs live (I saw a game with my Mother when I was a kid, at Wrigley field)

My friend Daniel couldhave caught a foul tip, but he failed on that.

Incredible seats.

Yet: A boring game.

But a great way to spend my 63rd!

It's nice to see someone else up there is having fun at this age like I am.

Remember to always enjoy yourself and, at our age, there is a silver lining in all the clouds.

Happy birthday celebration,

A Very Happy AfterBirthDay. Actually, I hope you have lots of them! You'll never catch me, though -- 67 and the heart's still pumping. Sagittarians have to wait a little longer to celebrate each year though.

Sir, I don't know you but happy birthday. When I celebrated my 60th this past December I threw myself a pretty big party just keeping in mind, you never know what will happen in the next year or so. We must celebrate today and keep on smiling.

In retrospect: The Chicago Cubs have swept the Red Sox in their three game series. The last abortion: Cubs 16-19-1 and Red Sox 9-16-0. If you prefer: Cubs 16, redsox 9.

16:9? A great ratio for TV, but it's bad for baseball. The Cubs were the third worst in MLB before this series.
