RE: Plenty of nothing

>ooooo, was that supposed to hurt?

Nope, it was supposed to amuse me. And that it certainly did. As for its effect on you, I really couldn't care less. To me, you are nothing but an image on a screen.

>Sorry elmgrass, you been

>shooting blanks for weeks. Maybe you should retire to the

>drawing room and reload.

Maybe you should leave the Message Center, since that is exactly what you said you were going to do, and since being "a man of your word" seems important to you. Or is it only important that others stand by their word, while you can wriggle out of yours by telling us "I was a drama major."

>OF course if you need to, it's

>always fun watching you flail away. Go ahead, take a sentence

>or event out of context and distort it to fit your convoluted

>view of things. How sad.

My "distorted view of things" is that you are one of several ridiculous, self-dramatizing queens who have announced in the most melodramatic manner possible that they're leaving the Message Center -- in your case you even told the board that you were sending deej a letter explaining your reasons for "leaving." And, quite predictably, you crawled back a few days later after realizing that there is no other audience who will sit still while you recount the incredibly banal details of your life.

What else are you going to do -- go into a Taco Bell with a gun and hold the patrons hostage, forcing them all to listen while you go on and on about how stressful it is to try to get dates with younger men when you're 55 with lovehandles? Nope, this is the only place where you can actually get away with that kind of lame bullshit. So quit bitching about the travails of posting here and be grateful this place exists. Who else would put up with you?

RE: Plenty of nothing

Jack - Vintage Woodie flailing alert: On the Politics section, (yesterday?), I started a thread down there to discuss Scalia's remarks about prostituion becoming legal as one aspect of the sodomy decision and he jumped my case and fouled my fishing water before I had even gotten one bite.

And any gay man who uses the word "queen" to put down another gay man is revealing his self-hate. Nothing distorted there.

Like him or not, at least jackhammer had the balls to come back with the same handle, unlike you, who are on your 5th or 6th.

The horse is dead. The horse is dead

Man (and I use the term loosely queenie), you are either suffering from Alzhiemers, or you must think that tired arguement has weight. It didn't and still doesn't. I love it when you pontificate as though you represent everyone else's opinion on this board as in : "no one here cares" and then jump on someone else who does the same thing. What passes for drama in your life is bitter sarcasm. As for bitching, look who's talking. I remember the first time you came on a thread I started and you picked one item, took it out of context and then wouldn't let go of it even long after it had been explained ad nauseum. In case you haven't noticed the horse is dead. Stop beating it. You don't discuss, you don't even listen. So if there's any bitching to be done, it's that your "johnny one note" take on all things "Hoo" is so tired, that most of the rest of the place won't even engage you. Only reason Lucky and I do is to give you something to respond to so that there's at least some activity in your life.

But is does get exhausting after a while, so you can have the last word on this "tired thread" as you called it. The rest of us will move on.

'nite now

Another amateur psychologist! As if we didn't have enough of those already.

You're not giving him enough credit. He not only had the balls to come back with the same handle, after declaring his departure in the strongest terms and going back on it he had the balls to criticize me for not being "a man of your word." You and he may not have lovehandles in common, but you do have one thing in common -- you both like to criticize other people for doing the exact same thing you do.

Oops! According to Rick you are showing your "self-hate" here.

>you are either

It's so funny when you accuse someone else of having Alzheimer's and you can't even spell the word. What's wrong with your brain?

Blah, blah, blah. You come up with many words to avoid acknowledging your own hypocrisy. Don't accuse me or anyone else here of going back on his word again. If you do, I doubt I'll be able to resist reminding everyone of how far short you fell from keeping your own word.

RE: Psychiatrists are big boys.

Woodie - Nothing you have ever said has left me with the impression that you yourself are a psychiatrist. Please pardon me if I'm am wrong and you are. If not, it occurs to me that psychiatrists have gone through at least four years of college when they are just starting out. So, they're what? At least 26? In other words, if we tick them off, they are quite capable of defending themselves without your help. And if they don't defend themselves, and I never remember a single one of them posting you a thank you note here, then they evidently aren't offended by our posts.

What makes you think any psychiatrist has so little to do with his time that he (or she) reads this message board? You mustn't assume that everyone in the world has as many empty hours on his hands as you do.

:)

That said, I have no interest in defending psychiatrists. My interest is in pointing out the tendency of so many posters, including you and Rick, to pretend that they can diagnose the emotional problems of people they've never even met. In truth, you and the rest of them are no more qualified to diagnose emotional problems than you are to perform a heart transplant. You just like to toss around psychological buzzwords you've read in magazines so that you can disparage people who disagree with your opinions. Surely you realize how obvious that is?

Whatever your emotional problem is, one of the symptoms is your frequent attempts to blame me or some imaginary law enforcement agency for the fact that few gay men seem all that interested in your favorite cause. Why do you find that fact so hard to believe? In just the very small group of gay men who gather here there is a split of opinion on almost every major issue of foreign and domestic policy, from tax cuts to "tort reform" to the Middle East. There have even been a couple of posters here who don't seem to support allowing gays to serve openly in the military. What would be surprising is to find an issue on which all gays DO agree, not one on which they don't.

RE: Psychiatrists are big boys.

Are you saying that you don't have much to do and have many "empty" hours on your hands? You seem to post here a lot, too.

And you don't think that psychiatrists have free time and do all sorts of things in their leisure, like going to movies or concerts or walks in a park or hiring an escort? Once a psychiatrist has his license there's no requirement for him to work longer hours than any other professional. This doesn't mean that some don't work a lot, just as people in any profession. Just because someone is an MD doesn't mean he necessarily works more than 40 hours per week, though.

You will find no such claim in any post of mine, so don't make shit up and pretend I said it.

>You seem to post here a lot,

>too.

What do you care?

>Just because someone is an MD doesn't mean he

>necessarily works more than 40 hours per week, though.

Two things. First, Bilbo's argument assumes that there are plenty of psychiatrists who regularly read this message board, so that if they don't post an objection to something that is written we can all assume they have no objection. That assumption is utter bullshit.

Second, the fact that someone is an MD really DOES mean he works more than 40 hours a week. With the drop in reimbursement rates from Medicare, Medicaid and private insurers for MDs in virtually every specialty, the average MD must work many more hours to make the same money. I know plenty of MDs, and none of them can get by working 40 hours a week anymore. You're thinking of the way medicine worked twenty years ago, not today.

RE: Psychiatrists are big boys.

I have nothing of value to say here, but then neither does woodlawn and it's never stopped him. So, in keeping with the tradition for which he is queen, let me say you are the single person posting on this board who has yet to demonstrate any value whatsoever. Why you are still alive is a mystery, not one I ponder often, but it does occur to me as I read your latest drivel. The world will be far from perfect, but it definitely will be improved when you die. Dont you agree?

You never do. I believe it is the lack of substance in your posts that caused Traveler to proclaim several months ago that you are henceforth to be referred to as "Pissboy." His wish, as always, is my command.

Aha! Here's another telltale sign, according to amateur psychiatrist Rick, that this poster suffers from "self-hate." Seems to be a lot of that going around.

>let me say you are the single

>person posting on this board who has yet to demonstrate any

But you have a definite value. You provide an example of what someone is like who has a history of cheating and betraying the people who trust him.

The subject of improving the world is not one that should be discussed by lying, cheating hatemongers like you, Pissboy. I'm sure your ex-wife would agree with that sentiment. Speaking of death, do you think she'll come to your funeral?

Nice try, woodie, pretending that you don't know that Traveller uses 2 l's!

But if, as you insist, I am Traveler, then isn't it up to me to decide how to spell "my" screen name? Of course it is.

You really need to find some less intellectually taxing way to fill up all those long, empty hours in your apartment.
