Ok its not really "champagne" but rather sparkling wine. At the show the other night in LV, the bartender was suggesting I try it. It comes in a can with a straw attached. The bartender insisted it was better than one would expect. It comes from the Francis Coppola winery.

I was curious if anyone has tried it and if it is decent? OK, I'm not expecting it to be Grande Dame or Perrier Jouet obviously, but is it drinkable? Better than Andre?

My gut tells me it is more of a gimmick than anything.....but I was surprised that the bartender was really talking it up.

Coppola's sofia has been around a long time. I prefer the stuff in the bottle, but the can doesn't mess with the taste either way.

Interesting. I did not know it had been around....I assumed it was new. Guess I'll have to try it sometime.

The sales rep is paying the bar &/or bartender to push the stuff. Standard sales promotion technique especially for new products. Doesn't mean the stuff is bad (or good), just that the distributer is trying to ramp up sales.

My gut tells me you could have gotten a really quick answer to your question if you had taken the bartender's advice and ordered one. :p

I waited all day for some one to say this.

Thanks for waiting for me, Phil. xo

Nothing like a champagne without the high price tag.

Great clip! And don't forget Elaine's cocktail party (watch the whole episode if you've never seen it, but the line about the champagne is at 9:50)

Next you'll be telling us to talk to the escort when we want to find out what he gets into.

Hey you guys.....give me a break. When I asked the bartender if he had champagne, he said "yes, its in a can". The woman behind me overheard and burst out laughing. LOL. I was completely dismissive of the idea of champagne (or sparkling wine) served in a can with a straw and I was surprised when the bartender was trying to convince me it actually wasn't bad.

Only later did I really start thinking about it more.....and then asked the question here.

Now onto more important things. Thanks to Rick for the Taxi clip. God I used to think Danza was so cute. I don't know how many times I beat off fantasizing about him. Gotta love a hot, young, dumb Italian guy. Had a hot ass too.
