Whether the escort is reviewed or not is irrelevant. It's not even relevant that it was an escort. You shouldn't go around scared to live your life because there are nutcases out there, but let's not give false senses of security to people and tell them they can't be harmed because a review exists for them. A reviewed nutcase can harm you just as easily.

No guarantees but a well reviewed guy will likely reduce risks (but never totally eliminate them).

I dont think ANYONE suggested anything of the kind ! Interpretation is usually far MORE dangerous.

This situation is terrible but I could not help noticing a few "odd" things. For one, the names of the folks. What does Lyda Longa "for"? Dillon O'Donnell just rolls off the tongue, doesn't it? Who among us is willing to overlook our friends and relatives when they are covered in blood and think it not unusual that they are devil worshipers and talk about "blood" all the time? I am sure the DAB News Journal is a legitimate paper and those foks are all "real" people so maybe this just fits into the truth is stranger than fiction category?

I certainly agree that being favorably reviewed is no guarantee other than "someone" seemingly was satisfied. However, after 20 or 30 or more favorable reviews, a pattern does seem to exist, doesn't it?

The article makes an odd point about websites for homosexuals. Do you suppose this thread will be part of the murder investigation since it is coming from a "website for homosexuals"? The kid was kind of cute and had he not been insane might have made it in the work/world of escorting.

Reviews or not, you never really know for sure. Two escorts I have been with later ended up in jail for murder. One worked for an agency in Philly when I hired him. The other was a local here in DC that I hired a couple of times via his ad in the Blade.

Wow fedssocr. Does that make you rethink your hiring decisions or process? That one was with an agency makes me wonder what sort of screening they do, if any. I would be freaking out if two of ny former hires were arrested for murder, especially if one or both were later convicted. It would make me wonder if that could've been me. I'd probably give up hiring forever, feeling as though I had exhausted my supply of good luck.

it is not all that surprising that some escorts would run into trouble with the law. The escort life brings the escort with all kinds of people and the drug users and enablers are certainly out there. More than a few escorts have headed down the path of drug use and more. Once the drug is in charge and all is centered on getting enough money for the next dose, all sorts of bad things happen. Of course it is not just escorts that pass down this path, but escorts usually have the money and the opportunity to find this particular path.

This reminded me of something I saw on the net a few weeks ago about some of the more well known porn stars that got into some trouble. While not all were escorts, some definitely were. Kerekes pled guilty of second-degree murder, and Cuadra was tried & convicted of first-degree murder and other charges. Both were sentenced to life without parole, Cuadra appealed - as far as i know, he's still imprisoned. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bryan_Kocis#Death

 

I tried to hire from their agency about a year before the murder but was never able to pin down the arrangements.
