How long do you wait until you declare an escort a no-show and leave? I drove two hours to see an escort at his hotel. I got there, and he didn't answer his phone, text or email. I waited 45 minutes and now I'm leaving. Not sure if I'm pissed or hurt or both. This was someone I had seen before and had a good time with before. If he couldn't see me, I really wish he had told me that before I completely changed my schedule and drove 2 hours...

You waited way to long. imo he should have been there in place ready set go. I give my massage clients 30 minutes. If 30 minutes passes and they don't call I call them tell them the session is canceled.

EB....You were more than generous to wait 45 minutes. I have been no-showed twice (not bad for 12 years of hiring), and both instances involved local escorts, so I have never had the frustration of having traveled a distance to meet someone for a confirmed appointment and have him flake. In each of my no-shows, I had a confirmed appointment, time and place set, and the escort had my cell number and email addy. The appointments were made on the day prior. When the escort no-showed, I did not call, text, or email. It's not my job to help him manage his schedule. I went on with my day after 20 minutes of waiting. Hours later, I sent a short email expressing regret that they missed out on a good time. Both responded by apologizing profusely for having forgotten. I'm like WTF? You can't manage your schedule a mere 24 hours in advance. One of them offered to come over to my condo immediately. It was almost midnight, and this ole guy was not interested in playing, just sleeping. I declined. They burned their bridge to me; I never scheduled with those guys again.

 

A no-show is upsetting, but even more so, if you travel to make it happen. Sorry dude.....

Well let me be the voice of "the bright side" and the "glass 1/2 full". You saved a substantial amount of money. You cant change todays events, so just go out and treat yourself to a GREAT dinner, go home, watch some porn, and indulge in some self-service. Its not ideal, but its something. !

I'm sure escorts deal with many more no-shows than clients do, but it is exasperating no matter to whom it happens. JJ is correct that you saved some money, but you also spent money on gas for four hours of driving, plus probably incidentals, and wasted five hours of your day, which is why it is understandable that you waited as long as you did before giving up on him. Let us know if you hear more from him, and the story is believable. Unfortunately, Daddy doesn't accept reviews of no-shows, so the only place you can alert us about it is here; I don't know why verymarried's post was taken down.

I got a few more messages on the drive home. He apologized and said the emergency was one that he couldn't break away to call me or text me. At this point, I accept his apology. He seemed like a real stand-up guy when I met him before (which is one of the reasons why I was willing to drive to meet him).

 

I also realize that I've got some major rejection issues going on and this definitely triggered them. Not sure what to do with them, but that's an issue for my shrink, not for this board.

 

As far as I'm concerned, the matter is closed.

Personally, I would have reacted the same. I would have waited about 45 minutes (my absolute outside limit), then turned the key in the ignition and driven home.

 

You did alert the guy that he was not at the appointed place and the appointed time, and perhaps the time driving helped HIM more than you can imagine to at least have the time needed to get back to you.

 

You never "outed" the guy by naming him (a plus as it turns out), and you did save "some" money (I know, gas is a bitch on these trips these days). If the guy is a class act who stood you up for the emergency, he might/should offer you a return engagement with discount (and we can always hope...)

 

Still, the way you wrote about this says it all - you are a good man.

That seemed kind of subjective as the deli part of this forum describes guys' attributes and weak points pretty graphically. I suspected that they felt I was talking bad about a favored guy - which was kind of my point - that the guy should be everyone's favorite but was still a no-show, got a better deal or whatever.

I have been extremely fortunate. In ten years of hiring I have never been stood up. The closest I came was when I arrived at an escort's hotel and called him to let him know I had arrived. He answered in a panic stating that he had stepped out to run an errand and was convinced he would be back in time but got caught in traffic. He apologized profusely and asked politely if I could wait ten or fifteen minutes. I said sure and damn am I glad I did. After apologizing again, upon meeting, he said "let's play" and did we ever. One of the best get togethers I have ever experienced.

I also agree with Decatur Guy. I NEVER fly guys I don't know well to me. I fly to them and only to cities I might find interesting if they are no shows.

I'm sorry to hear that this happened to you. When I schedule an appointment up in LA ( a two- or three-hour drive) I always plan to do something touristy or at least non-touristy but fun. If the appointment doesn't work out at least I had some fun.

I write this having just experienced the same thing myself. Haven't hired in over a year, but decided to do so while visiting Chicago. Confirmed the day before, and today. Sorry to hear that RJ. I have traveled (both flying and/or driving) many times to meet escorts, some of them newbies and unreviewed, and fortunately, I've had success every time. However, I always have a back-up plan if the guy doesn't show. For example, it was a location where I could meet a business client, or have other escort's numbers available to call, or do something touristy while there. I have never hit the road to meet an escort, without a contingency plan.

Erie, you sound like a prince of a guy to me. While I haven't had this experience exactly, I have never thought about having a bak-up plan like some guys have mentioned here - to me that seems like a good idea, and one that I plan to put into action the next time I have to drive that far. But I also think that the shoe is generally more on the other foot - the guy getting stood up is the escort by guys that are flakes. Just my $.02.

Erie, I'm sorry you had to go through this no-show. The escort's failure to call you immediately and let you know that he could not fulfill his commitment with you is inexcusable. I hope this escort offers you a completely free session to make amends for his unprofessionalism. If he doesn't, I seriously doubt he regrets his actions or has learned a lesson from this.
