Escort roommates can work out. (My current roommate is an escort.)

Let's face it, you can have conflicts with accountants, lawyers, waiters, bartenders, etc., as roommates. It's not the profession that causes the conflict.

What WILL NOT WORK is a roommate who is a prude and generally disapproves of escorting as a profession. (FFF springs to mind. }( )

If both parties are open and honest and agree to basic civil living conditions, any roommate can work out.

Taking in-calls, as you observe, is a big difference between an escort roommate and a roommate with another occupation. It means there will probably be a steady stream of visitors (stangers!!), which some roommates might not be OK with. Also, if clients are coming over, the place needs to be at least minimally comfortable and private, so that the client feels at ease. Again, some roommates might not like that. In talking to a prospective roommate, you should mention all this if it applies, the same as you would if you did office work at home all day and needed quiet, or had a recording studio at home, or whatever. Just so that everyone knows what to expect, and can decide if it will work for them. But yeah, being prude or judgemental won't work, for sure.

I would have no problem in having an escort as a roommate. However, if it were MY house/apt. I would insist he do out-calls exclusivly. If he was not cool with this, he would be history.

Like Mr. Fuk, I wouldn't care if my roommate was an escort. But I WOULD CARE if he was bringing in strangers for in-calls.

But that said, another thought popped in my lil' brain. Do any of the states have laws that allow the government to confiscate your residence if an occupant is convicted of prostitution (or by stretch, "running a brothel"). I know they can and do this all the time for drugs. But can they for prostitution?

Anybody know?

Yeah, it's past a lot of things with us. We've been friends, fuckbuddies, lovers, brothers, spouses, co-escorts, codependents...The only thing we haven't been is parents. (I'll leave it at that.) :p

-----HEY F-MARINE :+ A few months back you told this board that you were living with your boyfriend THUNDERBUNS, who now is an "escort". How's that situation working out? Are you still together or is he now "history"? :+

The moment I think it's any of your business, I'll let you know. By the way - I wouldn't suggest you hold your breath.

"The moment I think it's any of your business"

If you didn't think it was anybody's business, why did you mention it in the first place? Oh, that's right. It was part of trying to cover up the lie you were perpetrating that Thinnerbuns wasn't you!

I don't know about houses, but they are doing something similar with cars within the City of Los Angeles. If a john gets caught for solicitation while using a car, the car gets confiscated and sold -- even if charges are later dropped, etc. Seems like a complete disregard of due process, but they are doing it anyway (and have been able to get away with it in the "war on drugs"). This is part of the new chief of police's "get tough on street crime" campaign -- apparently his thinking is that if you get the prostitutes/johns and drug peddlers off the street, all the related crime goes away with it. He claims it worked wonders in NYC where he was police commissioner, but I think the people just moves across the street to another city's boundaries). Luckily, they don't seem to be targeting the "escort" business -- only the hustlers/street people (and they seem focused on the heterosexual part of it).

Get a life sweet poops!

If I chose to talk about it at the time, that was my choice.

And if you choose to think it was a lie, then that's YOUR choice.

I don't have to explain my self to you, now or ever. I try to keep my converstions with over-the-hill overweight cynics to a minimum.

Look, I don't mind HIS steady stream of visitors (strangers!!) tramping through the house, so why should he mind MINE??????

I'm also on the wrong planet - but I don't intend to change that anytime soon, unlike other that post here.
