I have said something about this on here before but have a question. I see more and more escorts asking for $300 bucks an hour. Are you guys really paying that much for an escort?

I saw this with the caveat that this is not my philosophy!

But..I remember when I took Economics in college...and you learn about the supply/demand chart. Sometimes, from my observation, the supplier is the one that doesn't want all the demand. If you believe you are worth $300 per hour, and a sufficient # of guys are willing to bite...then great! But...if you don't get that rate, then you have to adjust accordingly.

Maybe the escort wants to just get calls every now and then.,..and getting one generous client is better for him than 3 clients at a lower rate? I am just speculating...I'm staying up to get over jet-lag and trying to entertain myself ;-)

There are a lot of escorts who charge a lot more money than me here in England, good on them if they can get it but personally I prefer more regular work than the odd call.

I charge £70 for an hour to visit me, which is about $110 and I charge £350 overnight which is about $550 plus my rail fare depending on how much it is when I book the tickets. I think my rates are about right for me. I do lots of other rates and specials tailored to the client on an individual basis. It's rare I turn any work down and if the price isn't what the client was hoping for and it's been a quiet few days then I am always open to suggestion. The money is better off in my pocket than anyone else's and that's the attitude I have stuck to for my entire working career.

Last week, for example. I went to see a guy from South Africa who was staying at a country house hotel about 10 minutes from me. It's off the beaten track a little, a luxury 4 star hotel in the countryside. He was simply there because he booked late and there were no rooms in any city centre hotels so he had to go 8 miles out of the city for a quality hotel. He phoned me and asked how much an hour was. I told him £80 but he only had £70 in English money until the morning. I immediately said "£70's ok". I wasn't going to make the guy leave his hotel, get in a car, drive 4 miles to find a cash machine for the sake of £10. I want the transaction to be as easy as possible so I took a hit of £10. He was only a few miles from me and £70 was better off in my pocket than me insisting on £80 and him thinking it wasn't worth the hassle to find £10

I would love to think I could command $300 (£190) an hour, but it's never going to happen and you'd have to be pretty darn fabulous in England to command that sort of money.

In NYC, $300 hr seems to be the going rate, although you can find newer, less "pretty" boys for less. I would prefer NOT to spend that much, but I hire infrequently, and usually save or budget for my hires, so the impact is less for me. If you want something, you just go for it if thats what it costs. If I were one of the guys on this site who seem to be hiring daily, then it would be a problem for me. They seem to have no problem with it, they can afford it and good luck to them....

your location says Bangkok...Are you really in Thailand? If so how are you paying $300. If not, and you only visit, then I understand.

Yes, I am from the US but live in Bangkok now. I only get to New York on occasion now and then to partake of the offerings there. Here I only pay $30 for an hour but the beautiful muscle boys like B (who is reviewed today) are few and far between and I have never found an Asian with an appendage like he has. C'est la vie.

$300 is definitely not "the going rate" in NYC. There is no "going rate" in NYC, but rather a wide spread, from a handful of guys advertising under $200 to those who ask for $350, 400 or even 500. Who knows if they get what they're asking. I pretty much limit myself to people in the $200-250 range although I occasionally make an exception and pay a bit more for somebody I've been very eager to meet due to their reviews or being intrigued by their postings on this site. But when I hire, it is mainly within that $200-250 range, although I usually throw in a small tip if they are toward the lower end of the range.

I agree with UWSMAN2 -- seems like last week when a lot of guys were in town for hustla - the rates went up a bit - and there are always those who are really high - more power to them - -but that much requires me to think that nirvana is eminent!! There are a a few at $300 that are on the list... plus since I often play with fb -- threes always cost more -- that is where you can really take a hit!

I have noticed the fees creeping up the last few years to where the $300 level is not uncommon, which really surprises me given the state of the economy, the high unemployment rate and the low inflation rate. I would have thought fees would have gone the other direction.

Obviously, an escort can charge whatever he wants; but, I for one won't pay $300 when so many good ones are available for less. I've found that the fee really doesn't translate to the quality of the experience.

There are tons of guys in NYC who are in the $200 to $250 range who are great. I know I have a mental block on going to $300/hour....I have to really lust after someone to take that leap, but I end up paying way more than that for multi hours with guys whose opening rate is a little lower.

Not to go too far off on a tangent, I don't understand why any negotiation on price is so frowned upon/avoided by so many. I'm a professional, I sign clients, I service clients, and my fees are frequently negotiated, and I know price matters in signing new business. What I've frequently done with success is simply make an offer, and see if someone is interested in my number. Seems to work very well with guys I've already seen and they know I'm serious. Even more so if its for a multi-hour.

I know from running my own business, I'd rather have someone say, "we want you, but your price is the stumbling block" so I can decide how much I want the work, sometimes we lower our price because we want the work, sometimes we don't.

For me, it depends on the location. Locally (NC), I balk at $250. But when in NYC (a special occasion), I am willing to pay $300 for a well-reviewed guy or someone who at least APPEARS to be physically hotter than the guys advertising in my area. By the way - I just looked at the 21 guys who were on my Rentboy hot lsit for NY, and only 8 of 21 were $300 for an outcall. (2 more were $280). The rest were 200-250 or 'ask me/negotiable'.

Locally, I am willing to pay more for a well-reviewed traveling guy because of their expenses (and I'm about to do that this weekend :) But it's not something I can afford very often and is likely to become even less frequent. :(

If any of you are willing and able to spend more than a quick hour with a dude, you may be surprised what the per-hour average drops to when you mention a couple or three hours or more.....and no haggling required!.....just mention that you'd like to spend three hours with the guy and what would the rate be for that time.....

a very popular bodybuilder-type escort I've seen has a $250 rate which drops to an astonishing $100 for each additional hour.....average it up and it's quite a deal.....

or you can always just ask what their rate for time is in the initial email/contact, feigning ignorance of any rate you may've already read.....if they like your vibe or if your requests aren't too crazy or if they seem to have a lull in appointments, maybe something will work out....

as always, be courteous, friendly, professional, and thorough.....

About 40% have rates that are $300 or greater in nyc

You are correct. A quick perusal of the postings on Rentboy for outcall rates indicate that 41% (119 out of 289 listings) have a rate of 300 or greater FYI. Although, not the majority, it seems that many boys are cheeky enough to expect this type of compensation. It's still a little higher than what I'd like to pay but would do so if he were extremely hot.

I must be getting old (and yet I still manage to get it for free with some frequency - go figure) but $300 and up seems like an awful lot of money to pay for 60 minutes of "companionship." To me at that rate the guy better have the dick of death, f--k like a tiger, suck like a Hoover, kiss like a lover, and be able to talk current events, literature, or investment banking all at the same time - which I realize is impossible for one human unless he's using sign language since the mouth would already be engaged in earlier mentioned activities. Right now I think I'd rather save my money, go to a club or playroom where congenial guys gather and get it for free. The economy is not recovering fast enough, my 401k is down and not showing signs of recovering any time soon and retirement, while not exactly imminent, is not so far off that I don't at least think about it. Somehow I have no desire to be 75 and selling matches in the snow to make ends meet because of how I pissed away my money. And there's a lot to be said for doing it with a guy who is into me for me and not because I'm paying him. Thank god I can still find those guys. I haven't given up on hiring, but for that kind of money I better be taking the stairway to heaven and that's a lot of pressure for an escort to have to contend with.
