Often in life we encounter things we dont like or approve of, or we meet people who somehow do us wrong or hurt us. To keep the Peace we are told "look the other way", "go with the flow", "turn the other cheek", "let it pass" , and we do for the sake of sanity and carrying on with our lives. But WHAT, if anything is there that makes you blow your cool, makes you see red and want to retaliate either Verbally or physically (although violence is NOT being condoned as a Remedy here) ? Tell us what takes you to the point of indescribable Anger (other than Child abuse, getting Cheated on or Dumped and the Debt Ceiling)...

 

In fairness, ill start, and mine may seem silly, but it just pushes my buttons. When in a chat room, ill get an instant message that says a/s/l ??? (age sex location). The person doesnt say hello or introduce themselves, and to me this seems rude and obnoxious as if they want me to qualify myself to speak with them. Petty, YES, infuriating, YES !

Sorry JJ...i didn't see this until just now. Good thing you bubbled it up again.

 

What makes me upset inevitably is people that say "How are you?" They don't want to HEAR how you are..they just want you to say "Fine" and move on. I mean if you're going to ask how I am then I'll tell you but don't ask me if you want the standard "Fine" answer.

 

When you do tell them, "Well I have this pain in my back and my car just died and I'm unemployed and have no money to speak of!", THEN they just say "That's nice" and walk away!

 

It gets really bad if you have to go through a LARGE office in the morning and endure the "How are you?" gauntlet. This is a torture worse than the Inquisition. As you walk in the door, multiple people start saying "how are you?" and you quickly think "How can I get to my desk in the fastest way possible?"

I have 2 things in particular that set off my Irish temper:

 

The First is when people answer a question WITH a question. I.E. What did you think of the party? I'm not sure, what did you think?

 

The Second is when people unfairly attempt to harm or ridicule my family or friends. You can do it to me--not them.

They still exist for desperate "dreamers" like me..... But it seems these days I have more people on my "blocked" list than I do on my "friends" list.

OMG! I agree! "How are you?" is not a greeting! Say "Hey", Say "Good Morning", Say "Drop dead." But stop asking me questions that you don't want to hear the answer to and that I'd rather not take time to answer when I know you don't care!

The other thing that drives me crazy besides what I responded to GCursor, is people walking slowing across a driveway. Cars all around and they're crossing a T at a diagonal at a slow poke. So they're blocking 3 cars from moving. But they don't care, because they have the right of way and they're the only ones around and they don't give a rat's ass about anyone but themselves! I was taught to cross quickly and get out of the way of cars. And it's not just young people doing it either... grown adults as well.

Two reasons I'll never keep a gun in my car:

 

People in the passing lane who aren't passing, just keeping pace with the car to their right.

 

People who pull up next to me at a stop sign in a larger vehicle (SUV, truck, van) but pull up half a car length farther so THEY have an unobstructed view of traffic.

last minute no notice cancellations without a rescheduling or even an apology. it is an epidemic and truly a sign of the death of common courtesy. I do everything I can to to be nice and polite. The client never knows how truly pissed I am because I have turned down another client because I was booked with you. but no worries....as the old song says, "Don't worry...be happy!"
