Administrator/Moderator, tomato / tamato. Whatever your position here, it shouldnt be to alienate members, which your personality clearly DOES.... You are not expected to enjoy EVERY post that is made, but to show your distaste in such a vocal manner certainly says alot about the person that you are. I will be sure to stay out of your way. And my membership here shows my START DATE so to say you believe "I've been around awhile" is just another example of your abrasive nature. not sure why you chose to pick on me, but its not in good form and I'd apreciate you refrain...

I can see both sides of this "argument" and without taking sides. Clearly, both deej and jjkrkwood were reared north of the Mason Dixon line. :)

Best regards,

KMEM

Maybe KMEM, but I am relaxing on my veranda with a mint julip. All is Good ! (FYI - this was never intended as an argument. It started off as an innocent question which some took objection to since it had been asked before) I am over it, hope everyone else is as well ?

You are probably right OS, and I wouldnt expect to come out on top in dealing with a site ADMINISTRATOR. I was just caught off-guard by his hostility towards me, when I dont believe I did anything to incite it other than pose a question to the forum. I suppose I shouldnt put administrators on pedestals, they are merely mortals and can be A*holes too I reckon..... ;-P

It would be useful to know the difference between the moderator & administrator roles - some seem to think they're the same, some proclaim they are different.

There seems to be an implication here that an administrator would 'punish' a poster because of personal disagreements.

There's always been that insinuation.

Functionally, both groups keep the site going. Admins have more server access in case it crashes, for software updates, etc., and have access to the off/on switches. The main functional difference is that while moderators can delete your posts, admins can enable/disable/delete your account.

If we were to "punish" people who piss us off, though, there wouldn't be many left. :p Both members currently in the penalty box will be back in the fray shortly, and with any luck there won't be any more penalties for a good long time.

Thats kinda my take on it. They hold the power to BAN you. And it really wasnt a disagreement. I dont know what it was other than a personal attack for reasons unknown. I didnt think it was possible to dislike a person you really dont know, but the admin clearly took an instant dislike to me.

You're point has been made and now has been overmade. I thought the original question was interesting. I've expressed my thoughts on how I think curt replies that suggest looking in the archives can be conversation killers, which is rather the opposite of what I thought the forum was supposed to be. Basically, I could see your POV on this.

But now you're just a dog with a bone. Let it go.

I believe Administrators have a more technical role involved in maintaining the database/lists, and interfacing with the host server. Moderators, like a referee, monitor the forum to ensure that we play nicely in the sandbox- that no one steps across the line, commits foul play, or slide tackles.

Regardless, i think these guys are doing an excellent job in providing hobbyists an interactive forum to voice our questions and concerns and the chance to learn from one another. For me, it's entertaining to see the diversity of topics and am always amused that I'm not the only one with such questions/issues.

I think that tipping is discretionary. It's usually done for outstanding service.

Tipping is always appreciated and remembered but as far I'm concerned it doesn't play in booking or not booking again with the same client. Other factors are more important than the tip.

And finally it has been pointed out that over-tipping is considered as a sign of insecurity.

My goodness, this thread has evolved and moved way off the original topic. Way back on page 2 I think I mentioned that this question appeared here for escorts to respond. Thank you, Steven, for doing just that. That response lifts the number of escorts weighing in now to an all time high of 2. No others - or have the positions been pretty well covered?

Thanks Phil, you are absolutely right. As for the topic, i believe it has exhausted itself and the answer that I take away from this is "Tip if you feel like it, Dont tip if you dont feel like it"..... Duh, why did I ask the question in the first place ? Seems so simple.
