lack of simple courtesy

over the past 11 days i have sent 3 e-mails to the administrators of this site requesting i no longer be burdened by "moderated" status.as of this date and time i have only recieved one response.i want to thank losgatan for his courtesy in responding and offering the information i requested. he sugested i direct an e-mail to hooboy,which i did......twice....as of this date still no response from him.if members of this group (which i have tryed to be) are expected to show courtesy and respect to each other.......why should we not expect the same from the administration.i'm confident that i am not the only visitor to this site that is neither an escort nor client.i am opinionated, but this is a site that is fueled by opinions....as evidenced by some of the topics..........okay i have vented........taylor@02:37/10-09-02

I don't feel HooBoy is ignoring you. He probably is swamped with email each day. In the message center there are over 1000 registered users and some, like you, send him email; he receives X submitted new reviews each day; emails from escorts requesting updates or responding to a review; complaint emails; emails with general questions; probably a healthy dose of spam .

 

All I'm suggesting is that you give him more than 2 or 3 days to reply . I'm sure a few emails also get lost so possibly send off another one if you don't receive a reply by the weekend. If I email HooBoy it would be clear and to the point to keep my email short. He obviously can only handle so many emails per day .

Taylor,

 

Why is unmoderated status so important to you? Is it knowing that having your posts move through the que without being reviewed really that big a deal?

 

Its my understanding that everyone starts off as moderated status. Over time as they post on this site they may continue on monderated status or be moved to the unmoderated side.

 

I moved over to unmoderated one day a few months ago and did not even know it when it happend. Its up to HB to decide when and for whom that happens. The surprising thing to me sometimes is the number of individuals who are unmoderated who I think should still be moderated. To me that illustrates the level of fairness that HB tries to manintain on this board. Despite some of the nasty things that have be said about him and to him he has allowed these people unmoderated status.

 

Give it time, he may not have even gotten around to your message yet.

Response Time

 

I respond to my emails within less than 24 hours of receiving them, but then again, I do not get the volume of emails that this site must get AND each email I receive may mean business to me. I think we all need to remember that this site is free, fresh content is updated daily, and to the extent that this content must be "vetted" it is noteworthy that things go and work as smoothly as they do. If we were paying subscribers, then we might complain that our newspaper was not on our doorstep each morning before we awoke. But we are not payng subscribers, even those of us who may make a Pay Pal (or other) contribution, as that is a donation.

 

I second the thought to be patient. I also would not confuse the administration of this (or any other site) with the request to show and be civil to others, which I would like to add, Taylor, that I think you have shown yourself to be a good contributor and IMHO, not having admittedly read each of your posts as the moderators have, do deserve to be unmoderated as much as anyone else who is, myself included.

Perhaps if you practiced what you preach, you would be more believable. Review some of your own posts. They were downright insulting, but you however thought they were SO clever and amusing.

 

If it were my decision (which it isn't) you would stay on moderated status until you learn to stop sounding like the Southern Romper Room.

Taylor I have been a member here since Dec of last year and have been unmoderated for less than a month. I have rarely dived into the real controversial subjects here plus I have submitted several escort reviews as a contribution to this site.

 

So, as a fellow Kentuckian (that is not a hillbilly and that owns over a dozen pairs of shoes) I suggest you be patient and get a thicker skin.

Taylor, I've been a fan of your posts here since I discovered the Message Board. All I can do I relate my experiences:

 

I was a solid lurker here for the first nine months after I discovered the site. During that time, I never posted, but did have chronic tech difficulties (due to my ancient, soon-to-be-replaced comp). I sent at least a half dozen emails to Hooboy about those probs (plus an occasional "heads up" if the reviews didn't show up on time). Hoo responded every time, and there were several times when we emailed 2 or 3 times a day to try to solve my tech probs. Hoo has also responded once or twice to my "personal" emails wherein I asked him for advice or comment about a particular escort.

 

My first post was, I think, in June, 2002, when I finally became a member. It wasn't till a few months ago that I even knew about "moderated status" vs. "team status." Somehow, I had attained "team status;" don't ask me how or why. I've since been...umm...a sometimes "controversial" poster, with no change in status.

And not only that - but you are so stupid as to think the mere mention of "Southern" makes one a bigot. When I said "Southern Romper Room" the word "Southern" was used as a geographical description of where your Romper Room (read kindergarden) was located.

 

You loudly proclaim that you are not 19, but are in fact 20. Funny, but your posts sound more like that 20 should be divided by 2.
