Several people here may already know, but late last night NYTomcat was in a car accident when some lady driver blew through a red light. His family was with him and they are relatively unscathed. His wife who was driving has a broken hand. He says his daughter looks like a raccoon with 2 black eyes. But TC apparently took the worst of the blow. He has some fractured vertebrae and a cracked sternum. He is in a neck brace. Fortunately there does not seem to have been any spinal column damage so for that we are all eternally grateful. TC is home resting as comfortably as he can ably assisted by muscle relaxants and I'm no doubt pain meds.

He asked me to tell you that he doesn't know how long he will need to be away from here but hopefully for just a little while for him to recuperate.

On a personal note, I would like to extend my eternal thanks to Tyger who helped TC work through some of the pain last night when they didn't know if there was any spinal involvement. Tyger, you are the best. Now and forever.

Please keep TC in your thoughts and if you believe in a deity in your prayers. And please, can we take this take to hold on to those we cherish the most dearly. And for god sakes, don't be afraid to tell someone that you love them. Because we never know when we may never have that chance again.

Lee,

Such terrible news... Tom will be in my thoughts and prayers, and glad to know that it was not worse than you said. Thanks to Tyger too for helping Tom.

While the news isn't pleasant, I've very glad the injuries were not worse.

And, on a side note, I'm so impressed with the sense of "community" among Hoovillians. So glad NYTomcat isn't going through this alone and that members here are ready and able to help out.

I am so sorry to hear this news and I will send him my good thoughts and wishes for a speedy recovery. Life is so fragile so let's not take any moment for granted, either our own time here on this earth or the time we share moments with special people in our lives.

I'll extend my belated wishes for a speedy recover, and relief that it wasn't any worse (although I certainly don't mean

to make light of the seriousness or fright of it as it was).

Tomcat...wow...another reminder that life is about the unpredictable. I am so glad to see that you are well enough to respond here...and that you and your family are doing okay given what could have happened. Wishing you and yours a speedy recovery!

TC.....I am so sorry you and your family have experienced this trauma, but extremely thankful that yall are mending, and that you can communicate with your family in Hooville. When able, keep us updated on your recovery.

My well wishes and prayers for your healing,

Tomcat, I can't imagine how traumatic that must have been for you and your family. Clearly you are counting your blessing this morning, as we all should. My best wishes to you and your family for a quick recovery. Not that it necessarily matters, and perhaps you don't even know, but was the other driver driving under the influence or were they distracted by talking on the phone or texting?

Stay strong, TC.

Wishing you a hot nurse or two during your recovery.

Unscathed carries a much broader definition than I had realized. I hope you won't be representing the family in the settlement case. :D

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Prayers for a speedy recovery

Tomcat, I was out with the posse last night enjoying the dancers at the 20C completely unaware of this accident. I was so sorry to read about your injuries and those sustained by your family. I wish you all a speedy recovery and hope to see you back on the road again real soon. If there is anything I can do to help, please don't hesitate to ask, after all, we're neighbors... Btw, does this count as one of your 9 lives?
