I’m going to Hawaii this fall for 5-6 days and would like to get some recommendations for a travel companion. The best description I can think of for guys I like would be “grown up twink with a brain”. For a trip I would recommend going with someone you already know and have a rapport with. Otherwise, if they're in your area I would suggest booking them for a couple dinner/play dates just to see if the chemistry is there. I've paid up to $1k per 24 hours for a companion to come with me on vacation. That's a lot of money to throw away on someone who might not work out. Well i've done this kind of long trip. I can certainly say that Romann makes a great travel companion. And i have certainly found him to be versatile. Other than the recommendations of a specific gentleman, this subject matter has come up several times a year. Of all the activities these types of eventsare those most wide open. A few thoughts I have read from gentlemen such as Juan. First remember despite the fact that this is a vacation for you, it is still a job for the gentlemen. Most gentlemen would like to get 8 hours of uninterupted sleep to be at their best but if you want more discuss in-advance. The experienced ones know this and will probably mention it. Most would like an hour or two to themselves to work out and decompress.

Dont over plan the activities, I would discuss this with the person you will be with, in fact let them be part of the planning or if they have been there before let them do most of the planning. They usually know a good pace, well versed in dining and if you into after dinner party scene they may know that as well.

 

The rate will vary siginificantly and most wont give you an immediate answer. So be prepared for various questions. That said I think it is great you are looking for someone with a brain and good conversational skills. I would go with experience over most anything else.
