PK -- Thank you for that touching tribute to both your wife and Rusty (as well as Ben and Bonehead). I hope that Rusty is comfortable and happy in his time with you. And treasure your time with him. You and Rusty will be in my thoughts.

1. Changes in Health insurance which allow mental illness the same level of treatment as physical illnesses.

2. The past can be changed. Learning to live with an eye to the future is the best we can do.

3. Nobody needs to do it alone.

Three things I am thankful for. Already went to my support group today...but this just a bit different:

1) Thankful I'm not using today, didn't yesterday, and don't plan on it tomorrow.

2) That I have great health.

3) I have hope that I will meet some great friends on this site. Just have to reach out more.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Welcome Healthguy You never can tell how this site may work out for you but some people have made some excellent friends

Welcome as well, healthguy. PK is right. I've made some amazing friends here -- the best friends I've ever had are from the forum. I'm flying to Boston this weekend to meet 3 of them. It should be an amazing time. And thanks for hosting me, Bosguy.

So yes, reach out and you may be amazed at what can develop.

3. Therapist to help you cope with family, friends and escorts.

Thanks for the laugh Rich. I hate to think how much of your therapist's time you could waste talking about all we have shared in the last year. With our lives of the last year, you could be going once or twice a day. lol

Hope you had a great thanksgiving, my good friend.

As I posted in an earlier thread today, I do have much to be thankful for.

1. Friends. And here I do include many of my escorts. I have received so many e-cards, texts and emails today, from both client and escort friends alike, it is simply overwhelming. You all are in my hearts forever.

2. Family. I first publicly thanked my wife here, and included her in my 3 things list, many months ago. I'm fairly certain that I was the first, and maybe only, guy to ever publicly thank his wife in a forum such as this. However, her patience and understanding, even as I move on in my life as a gay man, is nothing short of astounding. The thought that I could not appreciate and be thankful for her is inconceivable. She still is my very best friend, even as our marriage will be ending sometime in the future.

3. Boyfriend. How could I not love someone who sometimes, at the expense of his own wants and needs, cheerfully defers to the needs and wants of my wife. One day recently, my wife was having a bad day and really wanted me home at night, just for the company. But I was supposed to be spending the night with my bf, and that he was really looking forward to it. Well I went to his place that night and we talked for a few minutes when we decided my place that night was home with my wife. I knew he had to be disappointed because I wasn't spending the night with him as planned. And yet, on the way home, I got the text that may have sealed our relationship forever. "I know I have chosen the right man because you chose to leave me and go home to be with your wife." How many relationships have ever been sealed because of a decision NOT to spend time together? How could I not be thankful for having a man like that in my life, as my boyfriend now, and life partner to be.

And allow me to deviate from the format of 3 things, but a fourth thing simply must be said:

4. The great news shared by Jackhammer in the thread earlier today. That really is a cause for rejoicing and thanksgiving. Jackhammer -- with all in my life my heart has been as joyous and as full as it has ever been on Thanksgiving. Your news caused it to positively burst. Thank you for making this an almost perfect holiday. I don't think it could get any better.

After reading Purplekow's post about creative threads, I decided to resurrect this thread I started two years ago.. It ended up being one of the top three threads in Daddy's history as far as views and replies-only behind Daddy's death and BN's plagiarism.

List three things you are thankful for today..

1) My health--it seems that my a-fib was a one time thing.

2) 4 more days until I get to go on a date with a cute boy to see the touring company of La Cage Aux Folles

3) only 24 more days until I depart to Rio.

First, I would like to thank you Lurker for starting this thread. It has given a lot of us a chance to reflect on what is important to us and express it. A really great thread and you deserve a big thanks for starting it.

As I approach a big anniversary for me, getting to share it with a few friends, and this holiday, my choices are pretty self-evident.

1. My amazing partner. As we approach our first anniversary next weekend, it has been the most incredible thing to find love at this stage in my life. In a place and time I really didn't know I would find it. You keep me grounded and (relatively) sane and give so much hope for our future together. One down, many more to go.

2. My incredible friends that I have made here. That I get to share part of my anniversary weekend with a couple of my forum friends (one client, one escort) makes it all the more special. Having my forum friends, many who have helped me get to the point where I was confident enough in myself to even find a partner, meet my partner is just incredible. And I hope many more will get to meet him in the coming months, as we organize the next DC luncheon and PS next year.

3. And on this mother's day, I can't help but thank the best mother I know: the mother of my son, my wife. She has been so incredible during this whole process. I am constantly grateful that she has been as understanding as she has been in my whole coming out process.

I am truly a very lucky man.

Thanks again for starting and now resurrecting this thread Lurker. Have fun flying down to Rio.

It's wonderful to see this particular thread still being read and the "three wishes" continuing to be posted!

It's positive and that is what makes one's day bright and optimistic! -:) -:)
