I've watched a few episodes of the Johnny Weir reality show on Sundance. I figured I'd come away hating the little twerp but he actually comes off, flaws and all, as kinda likeable.

 

Lycacek has always seemed too tall and gangly to me. For a married-with-child straight guy he's mighty fey!

 

There was plenty of eye candy on the ice last night. Did anyone catch the little Brazilian-born French guy? Cute, cute, cute, and boy is he going to be a powerhouse skater in a few years.

NBC showed tape today of Lycacek meeting with Vera Wang (ding!) to plan his costumes for the olympics. He downright squealed when she suggested feathers. (Until she suggested silver feathers and he recoiled saying "I don't want to touch anything silver!")

Greatest Olympian, Apollo just wait a moment

 

I agree Apollo's achievements will be applauded as a lifetime achievement. That said to this day and forever more, no one will ever match the achievement of, for me, the greatest Olympic achievement of all time and this dude was hot to look at. I was in class studying to take my CPA test on a Saturday morning when class stopped we all listened while Eric Heiden did the impossible and win his 5th speed skating gold in Lake Placid by winning the 10,000 meter race, on a bitter cold day. We all cheered. No skater skates all the disciplines any more. He was a stud and single handily open speed skating as a sport in the US. His success fueled the building of the first major Speed Skating venue in the US, Petit Olympic Rink in West Allis WI. You may find his story interesting. You may also drool heavily at his physical stats.
