Taking Nude Pictures..CLIENTS PLEASE READ

I find myself at a very Interesting Dilemma..Im starting to receive quite a bit of emails from potential clients wishing to book me and although most have been satisfied with my pictures some understandably want nudes. Now I understand I can take these without my face being in them and I also want to APOLOGIZE for the very unprofessional pictures I have been sending out..Literally taken straight from my Myspace..I would like to take professional pictures and wanted any advice on who to go to and most importantly WHAT EXACTLY DO CLIENTS LOOK FOR??

You will get many different answers on what clients look for in a photo.

 

What I do look for are face pics, shirtless pics and underwear pics. That is what gets my attention Personally I am not interested in nude pics I like to leave something to the imagination. I also do not like pics over posed. My preference is the more natural the better.

I don't know what pics you're sending out now so I don't know what the bar is in regards to becoming more "nude". But you can have nude pics that don't actually show your dick. You can also have nude pics that don't show your face. So far I've been pretty impressed with Romann's pics and the style he adopts in not showing many things but still showing a lot.

 

Go to the escort directory sites and look to see what other escorts do with their pics (and how you react to each pic as well). Should give you a bunch of ideas.

Just want to add that this is something you never should compromise in. True clients, I believe, will not pass by you because of lack of nude pics. A serious client usually wants to see a clean face pic and as I mentioned before shirtless or underwear pics.

 

But I cannot think of anyone on here that would not hire you because you do not have a nude pic to show them. Maybe I am wrong but I hope not.

One can argue the debate about nudes and non-nudes, as some do and dont like. When I first started, way back when I had a thing about not showing any nudes. But then I would get guys asking me to show nudes who wanted to book me, and guys wanting to see nudes and didnt want to book me. My first client off rentboy asked to see more from my 'private gallery'.

 

It didnt take long for me to get tired of being asked to show nudes, not knowing if they wanted to look just to look or they wanted to actually book. So on my next photo shoot I just went ahead and took nudes for the first time.

 

I consider it similar to whether or not to post your rate or say 'varies'. It just makes my life easier for me so I wont have to answer emails and calls asking just to see nude photos or 'how much'....

 

I think its better to have 1 or 2 good nudes than none at all or a bunch of 'bad nudes'.

If you're worried about your military status, having pics that show your face on a gay escort site is going to be a problem no matter how many clothes you're wearing in those pics. You really have no choice -- you can't put any face pics in your ads. It's up to your sensibilities whether you show fully nude pics or modest or suggestive pics, but since you're not going to show your face I suggest that some of the pics in your ad be more revealing rather than less. When a potential client responds to your ad, they'll probably ask for a face pic, which you can send privately.

LeoWalker made an excellent suggestion in recommending that you take a look at Romann's nude photographs. You might also want to check out Dane Scott photos at http://www.danescott.mywebz.net. Both sets of photographs are obviously professionally done AND do not show the guys face.

Personally I require only a nude torso shot. I like a cock shot but do not require it. I appreciate a need for confidentiality and thus DO NOT require a face shot. What I do require is good quality photographs as they indicate professionalism to me. I won't even look seriously at photographs taken with a guys cell phone.

Well IMHO.. You are definitely gonna have to do better than 1 Torso shot in Boxers which is all that is seen on your Links! I'm surprised your getting any Contacts with this at all.

Reading one's personal opinions (especially when asked for) is one thing and bothers me not even when I disagree with them. But when someone starts presuming to speak on behalf of a larger ill/un-identified group, I become a tad cranky...

I confess I've never hired without seeing at least a partial face-shot of the escort in question, but I do understand your need/desire for discretion in that regard. I think, however, such a decision underscores a need to show as much of the rest of your body as you're comfortable with. I also like nude shots, but shots that are posed to hide/obscure the face/package can be very erotic too. In other words, 'cock shots' are less important to me than getting a sense of an escort's body, which makes full body shots a particular turn-on. I'm also a feet and butt lover, so zipperzone's and purplekow's advice in that regard speaks for me as well.

 

What's important with your pics (and goes for so much else in escorting) is that you feel comfortable with what you put out there. Whatever you choose to do is likely to put some clients off - no one can be all things to all people, after all. But a 'lost' client here and there is a small price to pay for remaining comfortable in your own skin!

Market conditions vary from place to place. I agree that in NYC with 300+ competitors on Rentboy, Hottie's single shot isn't going to go very far at all. In a smaller market though, the situation can be different. There are darn few escorts advertising in my neck of the woods, for instance, and many of them do so with pics as few/limited as Hottie's current one. I suspect they get some clients though, just from the lack of competition!

As far as my picture on my site it states I do have plenty of pictures including face available..Im not compromising myself by putting my face on any of these sites. If its not good enough for someone theres always someone else Interested..It hasnt been a problem so far. And me "stating" im 19 is quite interesting..unlike half the escorts Ive notices(Ive come across quite a few msg boards about older escorts saying they were years younger one a few decades younger!!) I actually am 19 and didnt realize that sooooo many escorts were in their 30's and 40's...I always assumed the market would just be for younger guys as myself and noticed their is also a market for older guys.

The first questions you should have asked yourself before you began escorting was exactly WHY are you escorting. If the answer is to make enough money to put yourself through school and then move on to another profession then the way you are presenting yourself, with a single torso photograph, should work just fine.

 

IF, however, your intention is to make a career out of escorting, like some of the really outstanding escorts who appear on this site (Dane Scott/Chicago, Dave/San Francisco, Rod Hagen/Los Angeles, Romann/Dallas/Ft. Worth Steven Kesslar/San Francisco, etc., etc,. etc.), you will need to rethink your advertising philosophy. There is no way you can make a successful career escorting living where you do without extensive traveling. To become successful traveling you will have to expand you photography gallery. As the above guys will tell you a full time escorting career can be both very exciting and very lucrative. Besides the above two benefits escorting can offer some wonderful travel opportunities both nationally and internationally.

 

The critical question is, now and always, simply: What do you want? Answer that question, be realistic in your plans, and go for it!!!!!

 

P.S. Let me add that I am impressed by the manner in which you present yourself in your posts. If you lived in my part of the woods (So. Ca.) You also must be careful not to send mixed messages or unclear statements; e.g. at times you say you are in the military and then other times you infer that you are a college student living in a frat house. That's admirable, and it's great you're here asking questions trying to learn about the business, but sf-westcoaster is exactly right that you've got to present yourself as a professional, even if you're a professional who's got a lot to learn.

 

If you think about other professsionals, like doctors and lawyers, there are newbies there too, but even if they have to ask for help from the more experienced around them to do much of anything, they're expected to carry themselves with a certain professional demeanor. You should be figuring out how to do the same. It's a lot to ask of a 19-year-old, but it's an important step in your development. If you're in the full-time military or even in ROTC, you're used to having a lot being asked of you.
