Thumper, if your guy can't do an outcall, then just do an incall and save yourself the cost of a hotel. Or am I missing something?

My thoughts on short term rentals:

- with the occupancy rate of hotels in NYC being so low, it's worth looking into getting a room for a night. Especially on weekends, when there are no business travellers. Example: Millenium Hilton used to be $400 a night, now you can get a room for $170 a night (on weekends).

- I heard the St Marks was renovated. They used to offer $60 for 2 hours.

- For a real dive, check the Senton Hotel. Rock bottom prices. Don't take your shoes off, don't touch the bed and don't touch the sink though ...

- There are some threads on this board about the Deauville Hotel. It's clean enough. Not sure they still offer short term rates though. But then, with economy being what it is, they might.

And of course, always pay cash for short term stays at dive hotels.

Better Hotels

The hourly hotels are too disgusting to consider, plus if you're trying to be at all discreet, you've already given up the game by being seen going into one.

I've found that, with the economy as bad as it is, you can find pretty good rates at better hotels, maybe a three-star on the Orbitz scale. The tourist and business cycles are not usually in sync, so either the hotels in east midtown, which cater to business travelers, or the hotels on the west side, who usually cater to tourists, are available and cheap.

If occupancy rates are low, hotels usually get cheaper the longer you wait, with the best rates being posted the day before or the day of your stay. If they're high, then you've got to book early, but then they may be too expensive for this purpose.

Good luck with Jesse!!! He's such a favorite on this board, I'm sure it's worth the extra to meet in a nicer place.

I would love to have the same information - Many times I want to see an escort who only does outcalls and have no place to host him

I think it's a huge mistake taking a top tier escort to a bottom tier dive. For me it would take all the pleasure out of the encounter.

And if the escort has any sensibilities it may well put him off his stride and the whole thing could turn into a disaster.

I meant Jesse A. can't do INCALLS and I'll be staying with friends so I don't want a hotel overnight.

HOWEVER, thank you Baron. The St. Marks did renovate recently, they do not have bedbugs according to the registry, and, best of all, I called and the 2-hour rate for a Queen is still $60. I guess I'll just have to suffer Jesse for 2 hours instead of one :-)

I read the St. Marks reviews on Yelp and it sounds as if it is perfectly clean and serves its purpose, though I don't suspect this couple have the same purpose we do!

"My girlfriend and I were in New York and through several circumstances we ended up without a place to stay. So we tried the Saint Mark's Hotel. We went to the front desk and asked if they had a room. He said that they were all booked. So as we stepped back to rethink our options another couple stumbled in. The older man was very drunk. The young, slender girl was behind him looking very not drunk, bored and checking her nails. He slurred his words to ask if they had rooms by the hour. After a pregnant pause when the manager looked us over and them over, the manager said that they did and began working with them. I started laughing and we left. It was one of the funniest moments of my life.

I'm still enchanted by this hotel and I want to stay here one day."

my review of jesse went up on MaleEscortReview today. a quality guy. i can not say enough good things about him: the best new escort i have had in a long time; he is a class act. i did a review for this site which i guess will eventually be posted. HOWEVER, taking him to a dump hotel is like drinking a fine wine out of a paper cup; i do not know that he will object but it might take something away from the experience.

Would that I could we'd vacation at the George V. But, for now, it's St. Marks for us, which I don't think is a dump, just cheap and basic.

Good choice Thumper. The St Marks will be perfect. Besides, it's in a fun 'hood. Have a good time.

If your new buddy wants to be snooty about this location, he should realize that one day, when his novelty has faded away, he'll be taking his undies off and give it all up at any location his clients want ...;)

Let me add something to this. 'NYCman' hit it right on in our discussion about Junior: a great escort makes you forget where you are, from the moment he enters the room. Regardless of where that room is. I could not have said it better myself.

St. Mark's is OK

I've have seen guys at the St. Mark's a couple of times and think it is ok. Very basic, like some others here said, but decently clean. You might want to call ahead during busy tourist seasons to make sure they have some hourly rooms. Often the hourly rooms are not the newer rennovated rooms.

Times Travel Section:

One example is HotelsbyDay.com, with a presence in more than 60 cities in the United States, including New York City, Chicago and Denver, as well as in London and Paris. The brand works with more than 600 hotels in the three- to five-star categories, and rooms are available to book for a minimum of four hours between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Pricing varies by destination, but the chief executive officer, Yannis Moati, said that the national average is $90 for four hours.

Dayuse.com, available for 4,000 hotels in 22 countries, also partners with three- to five-star properties, with a three-hour minimum on reservations.

And now, with the app Recharge, users can book rooms by the minute at luxury properties in New York City and San Francisco.

You can often score a deal on Hotwire.com. You put in the #stars and neighborhood(s) and they give you a list of choices. You don't know the hotel until after you pay but with some sleuthing you can usually figure it out - always "brand name" hotels.

For example, I just looked for today and can get a 3-star hotel in the World Trade Center area for $67 or 4-star in Madison Garden area for $78 (+ taxes).

Good luck,

These days what's the cheapest Short Term, Manhattan, hotel?

Really REALLY wanna hire Jesse Auvers when next in NYC, October, but he can't outcall, and I won't have a place we could meet.

Thanks!

If you want to stay at a cheaper hotel, try to search at Expedia.com and Sign Up for free so you can get 10 percent discount, then narrow your search by price, or even location of hotels outside Manhattan which costs a lot cheaper. I use Expedia all the time and I get Rewards points that I use to get discount on my next hotel & airfare bookings.
