I just read FFF's critique, and I really, really liked it. The pretentiousness of the writer was a little much, and when I read FFF's disection of each line (or almost each line, for I did not read the original review), I had to let out the biggest laugh!

As one who teaches writing and language-- I am enamored by the way some of our reviewers write about their sexual encounters with escorts. I am one who appreciates good writing that contains salient points and organization and would like to write individual emails to some of these reviewers. From what they write, my libido often begins to become sexually titillated.

Anyway-- thanks FFF. And to the reviewer-- keep writing; don't become too discouraged because one chose to take your effort to task!

>An ageing, very prolific English author

I think it would be more accurate to say that she's "decaying" since she died in May of 2000 at the ripe old age of 98. (I looked this up on Google - trust me, I didn't independently know this.)

I wonder if they buried her in pink chiffon since that was her favorite.

RE: Query for Everyone

A little romantic? Sure, but it beats the boilerplate things most people spit out. Hopefully the reviewer if he discovers this discussion accepts we were having fun with his enthusiasm about the escort in the post-appointment excitement. I agree that we ought to be careful not to discourage people from posting for whatever reason. Despite the flowery prose some reasonable facts came out about the escort. And that should be valuable to anyone who is thinking of hiring him.

So to the reviewer if he is reading: Yeah I get it, you liked him and he was great. Good job and keep writing.

Thanks, Alan. You got the main point I was trying to make...a point that was lost on Thunderbuns (You must admit the review was a little "over the top")and Uncle Bill (FFF could have easily used his same skills on one of my long-winded and occassionally stilted reviews). I'm all for finding humor in the reviews (I do it all the time) and some of the obviously fake ones are just sitting ducks for satire, but I don't see the point in turning it into a personal attack, especially when we have no idea what the reviewer looks like or how the escort felt about the encounter.

Ricky darling. I never said I agreed with FFF's conclusion that the reviewer was ugly. I just said I thought the review was "over the top" - and it was.

I'm all for

Just like this one was.

If I was the escort and was reviewed in this manner - I swear I would be embarrased. I would rather have had no review or even a bad one. I think it makes the escort sound like a characture.

FFF's deconstruction of the review was mean to the reviewer, AND it was hilarious as well. To be fair to FFF, he was publicly challenged to do it, and he doesn't seem the type to decline that sort of invitation. It is not the first time that a silly or pretentious review has been critiqued here, and I certainly hope it won't be the last. However, I hope the reviewer is not so thin-skinned or offended that he leaves the site, because everyone who writes a sincere review deserves our thanks for contributing the one thing that is the site's reason for being. It was the satire of the style that I laughed at, not the gratuitous insults to the reviewer as a person.

no, brainiac, they wouldn't now be called mega-euros. the UK (along with the kingdoms of sweden and denmark) chose not to join the euro zone. they're still using the pound, the krona, and the krone, respectively.

Cartland or carnage?

wait a minute! is that Barbara Cartland or that lady that Louie hesitated to rip apart with his teeth and one of her ill-fated poodles?

DCeBoy -- what's not to like about FFF? He/she's single-handedly responsible for 99% of the humor on this board, and this was his best work yet -- hilarious stuff.

Brainiac?......... Now let me see......

That wouldn't be that tired fuck Ethan stirring up old hostilities, would it. No way - me thinks he has far too much class for that.

NOT

As you might recall from yonder years - DCeBoy doesn't luck much about or of, anything. Unless it's centered around him. Some things just never change.

Gives one a warm snuggley feeling knowing you can always depend on certain things.

What a great idea you've just given me - I am going to be on the east coast this summer and am planning a few days in DC. I think I'll book an appointment with you, Ethan dear, and find out for myself just what you are really like.

And the fun thing is........ you will have no idea who I am when I make the appointment - nor after, for that matter. So every time you book an appointment from June to Sept. just wonder.

>enjoy... well, enjoy yourself, as usual.

Oh, I intend to - have no doubts about that!
