The fees I heard last nite seemed kind of steep for a club thats only seeing around a hundred or so customers per nite,

1. $20.00 Late fee (if your not there by 5)

2. $20.00 DJ fee x 22 dancers $440 ?

3. $20.00 Bag watcher fee x 22 dancers $$440 ?

4. $40.00 (if you dont do at least 2 private dances fee)

5. $20.00 (if you dont dance and want to just do lap dances)

 

Why not try to advertise and get more customers in the club instead of reaching into the dancers pockets. 22 dancers most of which are not dancing seems like way to many for a club seeing only about 100 customers per nite.

Mercury..Neither is 2 hrs at $500 with a Client. Even with a Discount, to said Client,they are not putting in what 6 hrs to make it!

 

This is a Once a week GiG for these Guy's. That's why I have said it before, as have some Previous Dancer's..They have better thing's to do, to have some Fun and Pay the Rent!

 

This was the "Final Gaiety Chapter" also. At least the Guy's were not shelling out, all this $$.. to make $400 a week plus their Networking TIPS! LOL

 

I'd Luv to know, how much the "Girl's Pay" for the Pleasure of working DURING the Week? THIS IS NOT AN EASY GIG for either!

JT, I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. My question has nothing to do with 2 hrs of work for $500, or women who work there duing the week. I know it's only a one night gig, duh! Read my question.

 

Perhaps one of the regulars at the club can reply. Do the dancers make that much money to be paying all those club fees?

 

And, what did Taz mean by a "bag watcher" who gets a $20 fee from each dancer or about $440 for the night?

Mercury40, To answer your questions:

 

First: "Do the dancers make that much money..."

 

From those I've spoken to the amount varies. A lot depends on the night and the appeal/personality of the dancer. Usually, the Sunday before a Monday holiday, the dancers make more as attendance is up. The really talented/experienced ones can make close to $1,000 for the night. Others have made as little as $40 and decided not to returned. A good night for some would be $300+. Remember, most of these guys are dancers not escorts. They hold down 9 to 5 type jobs during the week and are there just looking to supplement their incomes.

 

As for the "club fees", a dancer arriving on time would not pay a late fee. If he dances, he won't pay a fee for just working the room and, if he does 2 champagne room visits, he won't pay a $40 fee for not going into the back with a customer.

 

Since the dancers work just in their underwear, it's necessary to hire someone to watch their personal belongings aka "bag watcher". I think a security guard or locker room attendant would be a better description. I've been told by the dancers that the attendant receives a salary from the club plus each dancer is required to tip him $20. That would bring his take to over $500 for the night. Remember, this is what I've been told.

 

I've also been told that each dancer must tip the dj $20.

 

A suggestion to both management and dancers... You should have better means of communicating with each other and avoid using the customers to get your points across.

 

Finally, with all that said, I attend the 20 Club for entertainment and I park my problems at the door. Hopefully others can do the same.

JT, To clear things up, the $440 is in reference to an attendant who watches the dancers clothes, it's not the amount made by a dancer. Taz used the word "bag watcher" to describe his title.

There were 25 dancers in Sunday's lineup and, once again, there was a wide range of body builds/types/looks.

 

Unfortunately, the token twink, Gio, was MIA, leaving twink lovers feeling left out. However, the VGL guys from Philly; James, Ernie, and Christian, made up for it.

On the way to the 20C, Taz and I noticed that Club Avalon (former Limelight or old Church) had been "seized" (closed) by the federal gov't for failure to pay back taxes. The events scheduled there have been moved to the Roxy, however, no mention of where next Sunday's Rentboy Escort Awards will be held. They too were schedule to be held at Avalon.

 

Last night's attendance was slow at first but picked up around 10pm.

With all the attention focused on Sunday's Rentboy Awards, there was another party going on at the 20 Club.

Attendance was up due to the Monday holiday. Most dancers seemed to be busy riding their clients in the lap-dance area. Didn't hear any of them complaining about not making enough money.

If you were unable to attend this Sunday's 20 Club show and would like to see some of the dancers, a few will be performing at Splash Bar (SBNY) on Wednesday night. Among them will be: Alon, Sebastian, GQ, Christopher, Eddie, and Damian. Lap dances are also available in the lower bar area. Show starts around 10pm.

 

This past Sunday, Splash Bar was closed for a retirement party for long time owner Brian. Three new owners will take it over. I believe they all were past managers... Best wishes and thanks to Brian who did a great job in making Splash the #1 Gay Bar in NYC.

Some of the popular dancers from the 20 Club were working last night at Splash Bar. Among them were:

The dancers work in their underwear on the bar and on small stands throughout the bar. All are available for lap dances and some do shower shows... Show starts at 10:10pm. Auditions also take place on Wednesday night.

 

There are a few new bartenders who seem to attract just as much attention as the dancers. They also work in just their tight undies.

The lineup had a more Latin flavor than previous weeks. There were so many dancers that around 8pm management was turning them away.

 

For those of you looking to do a 20 minute champagne room private, be warned, there has been a price increase from 100 to 120, split between the dancer and the house.

 

Good seeing many of the Hoovillians there and our special guest, Johnny, manager of the Buffboyzz. He has lots of fun things planned for Florida.
