I have conducted a bit of research.  The property on which Johnson's operates (at a tenant) is owned by Wilton Manors Holding, LLC, whose managing member is Tristan Schukraft.  He is well known entrepreneur in the LGBTQ hospitality sector and heathcare sectors and is the founder of Tryst Hotels.  He also operates some well known LGBTQ venues.

Schukraft's company has proposed a mixed redevelopment of the Johnsons' tract (together with the Art Frenzie and Wilton Executive Suites tracts) to include a new Tryst Hotel, but no formal development plans have yet been submitted to the City of Wilton Manors.

Interesting. Thanks for the info.

Pride Holding's letter to Staff dated May 18 did not age well, trying to explain everything was a rumor, bills were paid, no eviction notices, and no site closures.  Also interesting they are blaming "bank fraud"  as the reason for the missed payments.   Another article I saw mentions Barrett purchased a 3.5 million house in Boca in March, then put it in a new LLC.  "there is no evidence of wrong doing" the article states.

From their latest quarterly report:

"  The Company has not generated revenue and profits since inception, sustained a net loss of $2,702,624 and $224,237 from continuing operations for the three months ended March 31, 2026 and 2025, respectively, and incurred negative cash flows from operations of $574,027 for the three months ended March 31, 2026. These factors among others raise substantial doubt about the Company’s ability to continue as a going concern for a period of 12 months from the issuance date of this report "

Quite interesting and concerning for those of us who enjoy Johnsons.  It seems likely that Pride Holdings could be filing for bankruptcy protection soon.  That might make Johnsons assets (including its lease) available to be purchased for a song.

Interesting research. Thanks @AtlantaDude,
If true, and gay hospitality entrepreneur Tristan Schukraft is planning to demolish Johnsons and erect a Tryst Hotel at that location, it would be bad news for Johnsons aficionados, but very good news for Pride Holdings investors. Unless the lease provides for otherwise, Schukraft would have to buy out the lease before razing the current structure. That would be a big cash infusion for Pride.

Seems like the smart strategy for Schukraft would be to wait for Pride Holdings to go under (if that’s what eventually is going to happen) and then proceed.

time will tell.

Interesting......  Wilton Manors Holdings LLC purchased the Johnsons property along with several other adjacent properties (2320 and 2312) on 4/2/2026.

We in Wilton Manors have heard this Tryst proposal rumor for at least a year now.  New developments in Wilton Manor take a while, sometimes a few years, so it is unlikely that they would even start with any new development even if Johnsons closed and Tryst came up with a concrete plan, which they have not.  Several new other developments including a new hotel have been proposed but have gone no where in Wilton Manors.  Plus, Tryst bought two properties in Frie Island and is renovating them, the Crown and Anchor in Provincetown and is busy renovating that property, and has also proposed a hotel in Boystown, Chicago (per the Chicago LGBT news).  So Tryst is probably not doing anything in Wilton Manors in the near future.  Here is the Tryst website:   Properties - Tryst Hospitality

Here is the Wilton Manors proposed hotel, which is at least 3 years old and unlikely to be built at this time:  Wilton Hotel & Pool Club
