Matteo Lane could possibly play Kip-I mean look at his 'guns,' and I'm sure he has a nice chest. The only thing is I think he may be too stereotypically gay. And I hate to say it-especially since I have a higher voice which might be classified as a 'gay voice' But even Matteo talks about his mannerisms  and how his speaking voice sounds.

Hudson Williams says he’s received anonymous messages from closeted professional athletes, including hockey players, in the wake of the show’s recent success.

“Hockey players, football players, basketball players,” Williams told Andy Cohen in an interview on Sirius XM Radio that aired Thursday. “They’re reaching out to (author Rachel Reid), who will then relay these lovely, anonymous emails. Sometimes they’re just reaching out privately through Instagram. Those ones are the ones that really just kind of hit you and go, ‘Oh, this is a fun show. It’s celebratory.’ But also, sometimes, it’s just hitting people right in the nerve.”

The Olympic Milano Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena includes a stadium organ.  Watching the game today, I noticed the organ medley playing included the refrain from All the Things She Said, on a loop.

I know hockey arenas in many places play All the Things She Said.  That the Olympic venue joined the homage to Heated Rivalry was extra cool.  👏🏻

The men's gold medal game will be on Sunday.  It may seem apropos for Heated Rivalry fans that Canada will compete in the gold medal match.

Last time they played the opening puck dropped at center ice, then exactly 1.5  seconds later so did all the gloves. Then they had a fifteen minute fist fight. Think the goalies even threw a few punches. After the got THAT out of their systems they played an entertaining game.

When Shane starts dating Rose and appearing on social media the teammate who shows it to Ilya and makes crude comments then is reading the room service menu when Ilya says he needs to go out and get laid was played by the only female to male transgender pro player.  He played three seasons in the women's pro league then transitioned and played minor league hockey.

Btw, there is one 'out' minor league player but he is not a prospect.

I've watched a ton of reaction videos on youtube.  Andres Botero (broteroTV) got emotional & flashed a lot of armpit whilst watching.

Random thoughts:

I read somewhere, when the inevitable "Are they gay or straight in real life?" questions starting popping up about Storie and Hudson? (is it?), the writer reminded us that it is illegal and/or against company rules to inquire about a person's sexuality in a job interview. 

The acting in Heated Rivalry is wonderful and the on screen chemistry is off the charts awesome IMHO.

The wife of Harry Hamlin, who was in the groundbreaking and (for the 80's) shocking movie Making Love, was quoted recently as saying her husband is entirely hetero. I remember watching that movie; it was for me a revelation and an affirmation that, though I am gay, I might just have a good life ahead of me. Hamlin really was great in that movie; so great that his career suffered. He is a wonderful actor. Didn't get a lot of good roles afterwards because.....well you know........

Cue to the present, forty years later, and the two leads of Heated Rivalry are being raised up, celebrated, toasted, and more importantly, hired for other acting jobs. 

Times really have changed.

Watch a couple dozen or so "gay" movies, and then look up the IMDB listings for the guys who played gay characters.  You will find that a very large percentage of them had very limited careers after that.

I can't believe I never noticed that Kip's dad is sitting next to him when Scott calls him down to the ice.  I only ever focused on Kip and Elena, but his dad is on the other side of him.

So it turns out that being so obsessed with the show that I watch reaction videos has paid off... just like it went over my head that Ilya might've stopped smoking for Shane but started again when Shane was dating Rose, per dialogue with Svetlana.  I HAD, however, noticed that Ilya was smoking when they watched the sunrise after saying I love you, indicating acceptance by Shane.

Notice that Dad says nothing, which is a bit out of character as compared to his previous scenes.  I wonder if that means he was paid less for that scene and it was a budgetary consideration.

Also... Unless Kip & Elena are sitting in Scott's two seats, how he could find them in the crowd? If they ARE Scott's seats, it makes sense that the team captain could secure the seat adjacent to his seats, but wouldn't dad have wondered how Kip got those seats if he didn't know?  So why is only Elena consoling Kip's tears and encouraging him down to the ice? 

The buzzy sports romance series "Heated Rivalry" is expected to return for Season 2 in Spring 2027, as revealed during Thursday's "CBS Mornings" interview with series creator Jacob Tierney and executive producer Brendan Brady. During their Q&A with Gayle King, the EPs confirmed that Season 2 begins filming in August 2026, with King later stating an April 2027 premiere timetable for the new episodes.

A rep for the Canadian streaming service Crave confirmed to TVLine that a Spring 2027 premiere is being targeted, but did not confirm that the show would be back in April. It's also not yet known if Season 2 will arrive simultaneously on Crave and the show's Stateside home, HBO Max.
