Margaret Cho got the script for heated rivalry and loved it and wanted to do it but because she had been so vocal about hating ICE she was afraid that if she went to Canada to do it, she would be detained at the border so after much contemplation, she turned it down. She was very upset to do so, but it hasn't stopped her from watching it, loving it, and throwing several watch parties for it.

She didn't say which part it was for but she seems too old to be Shane's mom, so I don't know who it could have been.  His nurse?  That was only a couple of lines; they would not have had the budget for that.

Cho revealing that she turned down the gay hockey drama prompted the podcast hosts, Matteo Lane and Nick Smith, to audibly gasp. When asked if she still tuned in to watch the debut season, Cho said she did watch and “hosted some rewatch parties,” but that the decision “kills me.”  

“Like, it kills me,” the actress said, continuing, “And it’s all because of Trump.”

However, Cho did admit that when she watched Heated Rivalry and saw Williams in the role, she saw what could have been her onscreen son.

“I watch it, and I’m like, ‘That’s my child! Hudson is my child,'” Cho said. “Of course, the woman who played the part did a great job and she’s wonderful and iconic, and everybody in it is the perfect [fit] — it came out so perfectly.

IDK, I think Christiana Chang did a great job as the mom. Sorry, I don’t picture Cho doing it any better.

she's a good enough actress, I suppose, but she's pretty much played the quirky kook in everything she's done, albeit one with a heart of gold.

It was from 3 years ago. So he was in incredible shape even then. I'm still trying to figure out if he's actually gay or 'just European-or in this case of course-Canadian.

Of course some actors and (are we allowed to use the term anymore) actresses have made careers out of playing the same kind of character. Look at Cary Grant, Lucille Ball, or more recently Hugh Grant or Morgan Freeman.

Not sure how I did that but fixed it.

Also, I've seen interviews of him on line, and at the risk of dealing in stereotypes, he definitely does not set off my gaydar.  Quite the opposite.  Which is a tribute to his acting in the series.

Though I love both actresses in their roles, they should have done a better job in casting Elena and Kip's coworker.  They look too much alike; there's a quick shot of everyone at the bar watching Scott's speech and the two of them are on either side of Kip and they look like sisters. I've watched multiple reaction videos where the people thought they were the same person. In fact, Nick and Cory said that Scott can't be surprised that Elena knows his secret (when they're at the banquet) because he kept flirting with Kip in front of her at the smoothie shop.

I didn't realize they were two different people at first either. 
 

But this brings up an important point. Why was Kip sitting at the bar with his friends during the sports banquet, and not at the banquet with Scott?

Saw something today that Hudson Williams' father is on the autism spectrum, which gave him some insight into how to play Shane.

Don't worry if you've never heard of the legend of Baba Yaga, because Carrie-Anne Moss does a good job of laying it all out in the just-released first trailer for AMC+'s "YAGA."

"There's versions of her all over the world," Moss' character, Katherine, says at the start of the video above, which the streamer released during the show's San Diego Comic-Con panel today. "Sometimes she's an ugly old witch who lives in a disappearing hut on chicken feet. Sometimes she's a wise woman, an enchantress, a healer. Sometimes she helps a hero on his quest."

She continues: "Sometimes she tests him. Sometimes she kills him. Sometimes she eats him. Sometimes she f***s him. But she always has a name" — Baba Yaga. 

The series takes place in a coastal hamlet, where a private investigator named Rapp (played by Noah Reid, "Schitt's Creek") looks into the disappearance of a young fishery heir. Hudson Williams ("Heated Rivalry") plays Henry, the scion in question. Moss' Katherine is a "charismatic university professor with a taste for young men," the official logline reads; Clark Backo ("Letterkenny"), plays a local detective named Carson.

Rapp's investigation encounters "a labyrinth of enigmatic suspects, secret lives, and ancient magic," the synopsis adds.

"Yaga" is based on a play by Kat Sandler ("Kim's Convenience"), who serves as showrunner. Moss executive-produces alongside Mackenzie Donaldson and Andrew Miller. The cast also includes Megan Follows ("Anne of Green Gables"), Hiro Kanagawa ("iZombie"), Sheila

McCarthy ("The Umbrella Academy"), Ezra Franky ("Untamed"), Patrick McCarthy ("School Spirits"), and Katharine Isabelle ("Hannibal").

The series is a Crave original (like "Heated Rivalry") that will stream exclusively on AMC+ in the United States.

"Yaga" will consist of eight half-hour episodes that will begin streaming in October. An exact premiere date is not yet available.
