I just checked Masseurfinder listings in a few cities and was caught off guard. A lot of the guys who used to be there are gone, and there are now a bunch of (cis? trans?) women providers listed.

Anyone know what’s going on with the site?

When I searched Company of Men for “Masseurfinder,” I of course got tons of threads that include links to ads on the site. Forgive me if I missed a prior thread on this particular topic.

I checked and it's fine for me.  I have heard from a number of providers that they have dropped their accounts from the site for a number of reasons - most popular is 'to save money' (I guess they are an unnecessary advertising expense). Other providers have said that it's not worth it since there are so many 'restrictions' on the site - from photos to text. Unless you're strictly therapeutic (with no wiggle room) and fully clothed throughout the appointment, MF is not for you (so I've been told). You can't even 'hint' in your texts that you offer erotic.

I had a similar experience early this week where I logged in and there were over a dozen new accounts, each of which were women. I imagine the site was targeted by some AI account creation tool that assumed that female providers were what the audience wanted. When I logged in just now, almost all of those accounts were gone.

I just checked and it seems normal to me.

Is there a chance you typed in massagefinder.com instead? Same company, same look and feel, but focused on more purely therapeutic practices and has men and women.

Ahhhh! I didn’t eve notice that it was a different website. Huge sigh of relief. Thanks for pointing that out.

I noticed in Indy that there are only three strictly therapeutic masseurs listed here now.  Compared to the 10 or so listed a rentmasseur.

Changing times.  RIP

It seems fine to me. I must admit that I haven’t used a provider on that site for years.

Their registration and payment processing policies are obstacles for non-US citizens who lack green cards.

I finally ended my MF membership last month. I’m sick and tired of all the strict policies, exorbitant fees, and low return on investment. I have been on the fence about leaving for a long time.

To make the decision, I conducted a test. I ran generous specials for two weeks, something equivalent to 50% off, just to see if that would attract a lot more inquiries. I expected many, but only got a few hits, mostly from visitors.

The visitors business doesn’t really help because the idea is to bring in new potential repeat business, not someone who would likely see me only once. I appreciate the bookings, but tbh these people would have booked me at full price anyway.

The other hits were from clients who also viewed my RentMasseur ad and were asking for the discount. One of them booked me through RentMasseur and then a day later viewed my MF profile and asked after the fact if he could get the MF special I was running. That was the last straw. I canceled his appointment, telling him that I could no longer give him 100% of my effort. I would rather not have the appointment than deliver subpar service knowing this client is willing to pay full price but now isn’t because I was running the deep discount test.

I canceled MF right then and there. No regrets. I get plenty of business from RentMasseur. If anything, I am using the savings to double down boosting my RM ads with paid extra advertising features. So far it’s working nicely.

So basically I have been paying MF a steep premium for the privilege of having to discount to get new business…when all the while most clients are viewing my RentMasseur ad anyways. And many of them are willing to book me at my normal rates. The value is just not there, at least not for me.

MF works best for therapeutic only providers.

As a client and horndog, I use it only to cross reference to see if someone shows face there or claims certifications, etc. I haven’t hired anyone based solely on a MF ad in years.

This is my impression too. It’s not typically the sole source anymore for a client to see the ad and book - unless MF is the provider’s ONLY mainstream massage ad. Those days are over. So yeah, I don’t see the point. Lots of $ and lots of hoops for little to no new business we wouldn’t already be getting from other advertising sites.

I joined Masseurfinder for about two months in the spring of 2018 not long after MassageM4M got busted for tax evasion. Masseurfinder is very strict in their policies and each day I would wake up to find a new policy in place…..You can’t have a shirtless profile photo, you can’t be wearing sunglasses, you can’t be wearing a hat, you can’t be wearing your hair in an updo, and so on and so on and so on!!

It’s an expensive site, very micromanaging and very strict! The last straw for me was, I had a client write my first review and it was visible for a few days and then all of a sudden disappeared. I messaged support asking them what happened to my review and they sent back an automated response with something along the lines of “Masseurfinder is a self-help platform, blah, blah, blah, blah blah“. I told them that still didn’t answer the question to my missing review and to cancel my membership.
