Hmmmm....

So there's a provider I've had my eye on for a while who has been advertising in my area for the past few weeks, in anticipation of his 'traveling' to my area (RI/MA) over the upcoming holiday weekend. I'm interested in an erotic massage with him, so I'm re-scheduling a few things to free up some time over the weekend (hopefully he will be free the times I'm free). I'm following him on Rentmen.

He hasn't had his ad up on Rentmasseur in my area, so I thought nothing of it - maybe he just uses RM. Yesterday, somehow, I found that he does have an ad on RMass and for the holiday weekend he has himself scheduled elsewhere (FL). His travel schedule for the days leading up to the holiday weekend seem to match up on both sites, but when it comes to the three day weekend, there's a major difference.

I was going to reach out to him to see what the deal was, but when I've done that in the past with providers I get 'vague' non-answer answers.  (They just keep repeating, 'When do you want to see me ?' instead of confirming they are definitely going to be here). I realize he must just be 'putting it out there' to see if he does get interest from either location, and whichever area has the most response he will travel to ?

If it were me, I would simply reply to their question -- e.g., I'd say "I'm interesting in hiring you for a 90 minute massage on either July 4th or 5th" or whatever it is.  It seems like that's more likely to result in him actually traveling to your area, assuming he gets other interested clients, than you questioning why his travel schedule is contradictory.  But that's all if you actually intend to hire him.  If you're just attracted to him and trying to figure out what his "game" is, I'd just drop it.  He could very well be doing what you think (gauging the market to see if it's worth a trip) or he might just be marketing himself generally (e.g., trying to get OF subscribers).

I would be interested in hiring him depending on his rates (he has 'ask me') and our schedules. I wouldn't be able to book him in advance with a deposit (most times they ask for one before they get to the city which I refuse), so going by past experience I won't get an answer to either his definite travel plans or his rates. I'll get the vague non-answer. Even when I keep asking, 'So you will be in my city on the fifth?' I will most likely get the 'no response' in the text exchange as I have in the past. I doubt inquiries from me and others in the area will persuade him to visit my area over the other - unless we all pony up deposits.

On this one, I guess I'll wait it out.

OK so just speculate and complain about it here  instead of just reaching out and asking. Great idea!

Yes, that is my intention.

Since the dates before the holiday weekend line up on both ads it definitely sounds like he is putting both locations out there to see which one will give him more business. Hit him up @Ali Gator and just simply say hey I saw you'll be here next weekend. Once your arrival gets closer I'd love to discuss booking a session. That way he know you're interested but you're not booking him yet.

As I read this thread, I think I want to recommend to the moderators of the site to bifurcate each of the sections of the site into two parts:

Theoretical / Hypothetical Discussions about providers

and

Practical / Applied Discussions about providers

The Theoretical would house all discussions and comments about maybe hiring a provider, speculating on a provider, fantasizing about a provider, complaining about what a provider does or does not do, and discertating (I made that word up) on the content of their pictures or profile.

The Practical would be limited and moderated to only comments about a real interaction (via text, phone call, video call, or -----wait for it ---- in person meeting).

I think it would personally save me 80% of my time wading through comments to find real content.

Just my two pennies worth ..... wait...I think we are getting rid of the pennies so I guess this is now worth a nickel.

My two cents: I know there have been experiences in the past with vague or no responses, or worse, conflicting responses. However, this provide is not the other providers, so seems to me that inquiring about it is the best course of action, even if you get yet another vague answer.

Personally I take vague answers as a reflection of how the experience is likely to go if it happens, so that is information I like having. It's not unreasonable to mention that there's apparent conflicting information, and there's a possibility of it being an honest mistake on his part.

If I get a vague answer, i take it as I'm either not interesting enough for him, or I am second or less choice, which is not what I expect.

Best.

I did reach out to this provider yesterday afternoon, letting him know I was very interested in meeting with him when he's in town, and was planning my upcoming holiday weekend.  I did let him know I saw both of his ads with conflicting locations, and wanted to know which location he was scheduled to visit (my area, or the other). Benefit of the doubt, maybe he didn't realize the discrepancy in both ads, and this would even bring it to his attention. My text was friendly, polite and pretty direct.

His response, late last night: "Hey".

In the meantime, another provider who I always have the best time with reached out to me this morning giving me the heads up he will be passing through later this week / weekend, though he hadn't updated his ads yet (he'll do it later today). He wanted to see if I wanted to book with him now, before the ad goes up, because he's popular here and fills up pretty quickly (he only does about four massage appointments per day, as most guys book for 2 hours). I thanked him for thinking of me, and booked my appointment with him within minutes. No pre-pay or deposit like others would ask for, just a 'Great! You're all set. Look forward to seeing you then.'
