SXSW

Not sure if this is in the right place. 

Austin has grown so much in the last 10 years. Not the cow town it once was. I've lived here nearly a decade now. 

What I don't understand is our limited choices. Especially right now we are moving into the highly popular SXSW. 

Even with all the influx of people and cash we don't see an increase is the ads on rentmen. 

Thoughts? 🤔 💭

True. Back in the Rentboy days, there were some hotties in Austin and San Marcos.

A lot of would-be working guys in Austin realized they can make more on OF than escorting.  

I know several tall, built, white guys in Austin who could make a small fortune quietly escorting, but they don't want the bother and for many of them, they're just not cut out for it.  They work better solo or with guys who are in their looks league.

There have always been cities that puzzled me for their surprising low number of escorts. New Orleans is another. That is such a hedonistic playground but has relatively few escorts. (At least on RM). Then there are cities that have more than I expected, such as Orlando.

New Orleans is also a relatively small metro, now under 1 million and dropping. Aside from the tourist trade, it’s also not very affluent. That could be a reason.

That may be true for New Orleans. But some cities are just outliers for no clear reasons. Philly is one and San Diego is another one.

Philly, although almost 6 million metro, has always been in the shadows of DC and NYC. San Diego used to be a lot better, but it seems to have declined recently, even though its younger men are above average, looks-wise.

Heading to New Orleans for a conference next month.  Very limited talent on RM.  Oh, well, maybe I'll be a good boy while I'm there . . . or import someone!

Orlando is the most popular conference location on the East Coast, so it sees a lot of travelers with time on their hands and lust in their hearts.  I'm not surprised that a big escort community developed there, but it's more to serve the visitors than the locals.

And most importantly Disney attracts a disproportionate percentage of gay clientele. Especially OUT gay clientele.  This increases both the number of potential providers and clients.

That sucks  What type of providers are you looking for that seem to be lacking? Is it a physical type you like that's sparse in the pool, or is it more of a quality issue? (if it's both, my condolences).
