The chameleon has one of the longest tongue relative to its body size, which can be twice as long as its body.

The giraffe has a prehensile tongue, similar to an elephant's trunk or a monkey's tail.  Basically it means they have fine muscular control allowing them to grasp and hold things. A giraffe’s tongue is also the strongest of any animal, and it can be an impressive 18 inches long!

The longest human tongue belongs to Nick Storberl of California.  It measures 3.97 inches from its tip to the middle of the closed top lip and was verified in 2012.
