If this has been brought up before please excuse this question, but a search found nothing.

I've been seeing mentions of an OTC gel called Exeron now for sale as a topical treatment for ED. However beyond the manufacturer's website I haven't seen much from an authoritative source.

So now all y'all get to be an authoritative source. Anyone actually tried out this reportedly fast-acting gel that comes in small tubes to rub on one's penis head? Particularly interested if one can use this along with Viagra safely.

Thank you for any information from this esteemed jury.

Eroxon  as in get your rocks on is a gel with no active ingredients that is considered a medical device by the FDA.  To use it, you need to rub it on your penis just prior to sex and then be stimulated.  There are no active ingredients but there are irriitative ingredients such as alcohol which may increase blood flow for a brief time.  Any benefit from this is likely related to placebo effect and irritation.  I appears to be an expensive waste of effort.

I would say that this is snake oil, but snake oil at least has a lubricant effect and the ingredients in this are drying and irritative.

If there is a large component of psychogenic overlay and a great deal of faith in the product, the recommended stimulation prior to sex might help with an erection.

In case anyone is interested, I went ahead and tried this for myself. Did it work? Well, did get a better erection, but was it the ingredients or a mental placebo effect? Not sure. Per reviews it doesn't seem to work for everyone, and other guidance suggested giving it more chances if it doesn't work the first time. Not too difficult as the package contains 4 tubes to use.

Just thought I would share.

Curious.

Do the instructions direct the user to massage the product in, thoroughly and vigorously, for 20 minutes?

No time listed that I recall. You do rub it on the head only (not sure why). But for me that rubbing didn't produce an erection. The payoff arrived more than 10 minutes later.
