When I check out a provider's ad, I always look to see what payment options they take, as I may not have cash on me (more often than not, I don't have the cash on me). They sometimes post their options in RentMen and Rent Masseur, they always post them in Masseurfinder.  It's easy this way - narrows down my choices as I know which apps I can use. If I can't find it in their ad, I inquire about the pay app options via text, which they almost always respond with, "I take everything". I then let them know what I want to use for the appointment and they respond with 'ok'.

A few times now, I've tried to pay them with Zelle, as either their ad said they took it, or they responded with 'everything'. Both times the provider said, 'What else do you have ? I don't like to take Zelle'.  Same experience with PayPal and Venmo, at times. They ask for ApplePay, which I don't have and don't want.  If you prefer not to take these - why list them in your ad ?  Why tell me you take them, or why affirm with an 'ok' when I'm booking the appointment ?

A few times now, when they say they'd rather not take that particular cash app, I let them know it's in their ad or they said they did in our texting - and that's all I have. They reluctantly take it.

Why play this game ?  (I've seen this complaint on other message forums, as well, so it's not just me.)

Very strange 🧐 considering that there have never been more payment options...   it could be entirely possible that certain payment options ( Zelle and other apps ) will divulge their real names and that may be where the reluctancy  comes from. I do agree with you... they should not list payment options they are not fully intending on using..

Venmo once disclosed that an escort’s mother was paying his rent.
I politely informed him that he may want to change his privacy settings.
He was embarrassed but handled the awkward situation well.

Before everyone's undies get in a bundle, Venmo started as a social payment app for friends to send small amounts for their share of dinner, coffee, etc. Therefore, it would allow users to see what other users paid to them and what they paid to other users. Changing a setting to make one's transactions private will fix that right up.

I take everything ... except Zelle. 😅

Primarily because Zelle goes to my personal account and it's easier to have earnings go to my business account
