Ethan Woods Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 If you have Apple Card, it’s a Mastercard and can be used with RM sites. Even if you don’t have the physical (titanium) card, you can get the card number and other information from Wallet — … in upper right corner — Account Details — Card Information. You have an Apple Card if you financed the purchase of an Apple device through Goldman-Sachs. If you apply for one, you can get up to 3% cash back from eligible purchases through Apple (including App Store).
TAMPAMUSCLEDAD Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 Hey guys. I imagine all of you are sick of me by now. LOL. Honestly just trying to help by giving updates. So I bought Bitcoin. That was quite an experience. I got all the way down to having a QR code like RM was requesting and as soon as I scanned it it said that it was not a valid QR code. So I have tried absolutely everything at this point and still no membership. I'm going to ask a friend of mine who has a MasterCard and hope that it's not declined because it's a transaction outside of the US. That's the only thing I can think of. Have no idea what's going on with Bitcoin and why it was declined and my own MasterCard does not allow transactions outside of the United States. Just curious if any of you have used Bitcoin successfully or may have run into the dreaded QR code debacle? Thank you in advance for your patience and consideration marylander1940 1

I use a regular VISA card for this transaction and was told to either use "Mastercard" or Bitcoin. I remember something about this last year and was told my card was fine since I have been registered as a provider on their site for some time. I have no desire to open a credit card with Mastercard just for Rentmen. For those clients and providers that actively use Rentmen, what have you heard and what do you use? Now RM would only accept CC payments made by the escort with the escort's credit card, Master card only, and they're also requiring a copy of your ID to verify you're making the payment and your real age. Fortunately if you've been a member of RM for a long time, you can politely ask them NOT to require your ID verification. I know several guys who've done that. ICTJOCK 1
+ friendofsheila Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 maybe there should be a digital currency for this. Buttcoin?
Kevin Slater Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 This would be a great time to launch a competitor site. Should Mastercard cut off Rentmen as well, whichever site was sitting as a distant #2 would become the de facto leader. (That's what happened to Rentmen when Rentboy got shut down.) Thank you in advance for your patience and consideration Cards that don't allow transactions outside the US are more and more common. I have one card, a VISA gold card from a credit union that is nearly useless because the card issuer declines so many transactions - almost any online transaction is sure to be declined.

I just got the dreaded email about my recurring payment failing with my Visa. Then, I remember that PayPal has an option to get a Mastercard debit card linked to your PayPal balance. The only draw back is that the PayPal balance has to be enough to cover the PayPal debit card charge. It won't automatically pull funds from any other linked bank account or card. So far, seems like best option would be to set regular bank account to have a recurring transfer to PayPal account, for which the routing and account numbers can be found with direct deposit info on PayPal's site. I created an account on to be able to share this info. So, I may not respond after this. mike carey 1

It went through once my PayPal balance had enough to cover the cost of the boost and international transaction / currency conversion fee.
AJDalton Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 Ya I just got the news myself when my ad expired and it wouldn’t let me pay with my visa. So I transferred funds to my MC Venmo card only to find out it takes a week for it to transfer, so I had to ask a friend to loan me some money via Venmo so I can renew my ad. There was a lawsuit against visa for monopolizing the industry so maybe that has something to do with it!? Oh and as for crypto if they ever force us to only use that I won’t be able to do RM or Rmasseur anymore cause crypto is scary. Buy a dollar and five seconds later it goes down .20 cents. And then when comes to spending the crypto (if you can manage to do it fast enuf before the value drops) I have no clue. Anyways I don’t know if it’s related to the lawsuit against visa by the DOJ but the timing is sus.

Waiting for a friend to Venmo me some money since bank transfers to Venmo take an eternity.

Yeah most of them don't allow foreign transactions. If they did it'd be a simple way for most of us with Visas to get around the block easily.
mike carey Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 We have become accustomed to assuming that Visa and Mastercard are interchangeable, if a merchant accepts one they will accept the other. Most people who use Amex are accustomed to those cards not being interchangeable with the other two, and are ready with an alternative. RM may be a one-off or it may be the start of a trend, we don't yet know. I was always a Visa person until a card with the features I wanted was a Mastercard, and now I have both, otherwise I'd be in the same boat as others here. Some merchants already differentiate between credit and debit cards, mainly when you pay deposits rather than final payments. Gift cards, even those issued by Visa and Mastercard carry their own limitations that differ from credit and debit cards (not so much of an issue here as we have the same legal requirements for identification as credit/debit cards). So far, it's only RM, which most of us can live without, but it may be the shape of things to come if regulators in the US look more closely at whether the two are colluding to exploit the market. We may be forced to consider what each type of card offers and either pick one on that basis rather than habit or 'just liking' one or the other, or of diversifying our card holdings. Lamenting that your chosen card isn't accepted somewhere won't help any more than lamenting that someone wouldn't take my Amex has helped me so far. MikeBiDude 1
AJDalton Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 My Venmo debit card which is a MC won’t work. I guess they don’t allow international charges. I ordered a capital one 360 check acct debit card that I think will allow international charges. Means I can’t work till it arrives tho. marylander1940 1
AJDalton Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 (edited) Someone just gifted me a month for RM. thank you so much!! One site down just need to deal with rent masseur now. Just a heads up for anyone affected RM And Rentmasseur are no longer taking visa. And just learned that my Venmo debit card doesn’t work internationally. If you don’t have a credit card I recommend getting a capital one 360. The site claims it does international charges and doesn’t charge a fee. Thanks again Mike for taking care of my RM ad for me so I can least have one ad till I get my new card. (I didn’t put your last name didn’t know if you want me to put you on blast 😆) Update: if you add money to your Apple Pay and pay directly from There it works on rent masseur. Probably works on RM too. Hours of research just to make a payment. Lol Edited October 23, 2024 by AJDalton + FrankR and mike carey 1 1
mike carey Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 I turns out that RM accepts Visa cards from Australia, another point of weirdness in what they are doing. I had the card on file with them, hit send on the transaction, my phone pinged with a message from my bank that the charge had been made, my RM account reflected the payment and I received an e-mail confirmation (not in RM). BreatheInBreathOut Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 Rent Masseur: Shut Up And Take My Money! Here is my experience if it helps anyone. Thank you prior respondents, because your notes helped me today! TL;DR New to this site. On RM 1.5 years. None of their payment types worked for me. I received a free month extension to figure it out and still no luck. The extensions ends Thursday so I gave my friend money to then "gift" me more membership. He got a free month for every gifted month so if you want him to do the same for you, my DM's are prelubed, you know what to do. Methodology - I apprised the RM webmasters and [email protected] via every step with notes & screen captures for each attempt. Specific concerns were not addressed. Every reply: "We now only take MC & Crypto. Talk to your bank." - My original card on file was a visa, which ran successfully one time after the switch to MC, but happened to be empty for the subsequent recurring charge. Their automated system tried 3 times over 3 days and sent me emails, but I didn't even notice or respond. That's my bad. They therefore put the card on the bad list and deactivated my profile. - I switched to a Venmo Debit MC but then Venmo restricted it's use for everyone to in US only & it worked for one month. But then Venmo stopped allowing it's use outside of the US (for all cardholders) and my profile was yanked again. - While I apply for other cards and study crypto options, my bestie piled all his MC, Visa and Apple cards and crypto wallets onto the metaphorical table and we spent a long night being refused use of each one. Usually in some obvious "validation error" error tied to the reskinning of the site to the new beta version. I think. - You can't be gifted a month of membership if your profile is deactivated because it won't come up in searches. And my free month runs out on Thursday, so I lose the battle and give my friend money to "gift" me more time today. Conclusion Are you nervous or feeling alone? DM if you want to contact my friend to gift you your own money, but i know that takes trust in an imperfect world. So to leave on a soothing note, I conclude with.... A Quiet Afternoon Scene at CVS Pharmacy At one point, a new single payment option appeared on the site, the PaySafeCard. It's so complicated & has bad reviews but I want to use the tools RM requires so... I go to CVS in person and buy a CVS Giftcard, attempt to use it on the PaySafe site to buy a PaySafeCard PIN as they require. But the CVS Giftcard is refused with an error message that says my card is an online purchase and they only accept a physical card purchased in a physical CVS store. I read this message while staring at the physical card in my hand, the receipt in my other, and the CVS cashier watching over my shoulder. We laugh. We cry. We bond over the absurdity of the situation and, silver lining: I made a friend. But I could not make a payment. Me: "Hey Webmasters and [email protected], is this PaySafeCard option even valid? Or is it some leftover from the site re-build, like other bugs I've reported." Webmaster: "I dunno, if it's backed by MasterCard, I guess you can try it." I can try it? The thing you have on your site to pay might work? I can try it? If the Master of the site doesn't even know what his site does, and no one from billing@rentmasseur has ever responded to my billing questions... Ist das Aufklärung? Was ist unmündigkeit? "Marge I'm confused, is this a happy ending or a sad ending?" "It's an ending, that's enough." S05E04 "Rosebud"
Frank Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 Hi All, My status at RM was recently knocked down to a basic one because as they said, they no longer accept Visa for payment. The very personable admin guy said they'd had trouble with Visa; I figured I didn't need any details, so I didn't ask. They already weren't accepting Amex, instead they're accepting only MasterCard and Bitcoin. Honestly, I'm not a kid, so anything about Bitcoin seems murky and dangerous, so I''ve yet to be able to complete a transaction. Have others run into this difficulty? Better yet, is there anybody who can give guidance on navigating Bitcoin? Any leads much appreciated. Frank
EastCoastBtm Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 I wondered why RM Premium quit working - Apparently they no longer take Visas. I have four credit cards - three Visas, one Amex - no Mastercards. Mastercards or crypto!? How inconvenient!
